This is the best Hot Spot Medicine on the market you can get without a prescription. We run a boarding kennel for dogs and cats. We would not be without this wonderful product. The dogs always improve under our care. When the owners return they always ask what did we use on their dogs and we tell them to get this product. For speedy healing and to relieve itching there is nothing better! Thanks Sergeants!!!!

I've been struggling with my dog's hot spots for 7 years and it's to the point he can no longer take steroids. This product has worked better than any spray, OTC or prescription, for handling his hot spots because it is a gel. It only takes a small amount and it stays on instead of running off his coat. It's particularly effective with hot spots that he scratches into an open sore. I'll apply some of the gel and by the next day a scab will form and the healing process begins. Without it, he will continue to scratch the sores open and will not let it heal. If your dog has hot spots it's the best product I've used.

My white Frenchie started to suck on her feet recently and I noticed they were turning pink and she also had a skin rash on her belly. I was in between trying this product and Vetericyn Hydrogel which also has great reviews but I didn't want to wait for it so I bought this instead at a local Target store for $6 and I'm very happy with the results. Every night before I go to bed I used to hear the annoying sound of my dog licking her feet non-stop and last night I gave her a an oatmeal bath, left her soaking in the bathtub for 5 minutes to really soak her feet with the oatmeal baby bath (from Aveeno) and then dried her up really good with a clean towel. I rubbed this benadene in between her toes and all over her belly and chest and she didn't lick herself at all yesterday or today and the pink is going away. I will put a little more tomorrow. The active ingredient in this product is benzalkonium chloride which is also the active ingredient in Bactine, Algaecide, and some hand sanitizers. Before putting anything on your pet, read the active ingredients and look up the info if you're not familiar what it is.

My review will pretty much just verify what the other reviewers have said. It works, and works fast! After over a week of treating my dog's hot spots with hot spot spray and a liquid bandage solution with seemingly no results, I decided to order this product based on the other reviews. She immediately stopped licking her skin after it was applied, her abrasions began healing overnight, and after three days she was pretty much cured. The vet appointment was no longer needed. Thanks to all who wrote a review before me for directing me to this product. I highly recommend it as well.

This really worked for my dog. She had a hot spot on her tail, and this soothed it enough to keep her from continuing to chew on it. We applied it only twice and that was enough to rid her of the infection, now her hair has grown back in and all is well.

I'd knock a star off for Amazon, though. It's a little expensive through Amazon - if you can find it locally, you'll save a few dollars. I had to order it online, so bit the bullet. Also, in shipping the item, some of the product leaked from the bottle. So be aware of that.

The product itself, though, is great.

I have tried everything to stop my pooch from licking the base of her tail...she is a whippet and is prone to redness and inflammation,
and itching, because of keeping her tail close to her bum, causing excessive licking...after only 1 dose, my pooch had half the redness and inflammation. After two doses she stopped the licking, and the redness is gone. If you have a dog that needs relief from hot spots, or other skin irritation, look no further, buy this now!!

The hot spot on my dog's leg was getting worse, no matter that for several days I kept applying hydrocortisone and wrapping it in gauze. Then I tried this hot spot skin remedy gel. Like the other reviewers have said, this product worked immediately. By the next day the redness was gone. Day two and it is stabbed over. Highly recommend this product.

We have a large cat a Maine Coon who has been having issues with his skin and got some steroids and I also switched his food to the Blue Buffalo dry food. The food does seem to give our cat foul smelling gas but I read this is normal. And he usually passes gas when my dad comes over so maybe its my dad....
The food really helped his overall coat but he still had a spot on his right hind leg that was not getting better so I read online that it could be a hot spot. A friend who used to be a vet tech came by and she thought it was as well. I have only applied this three times in two weeks and its already getting better. Its easy to apply and it seems our cat does not mind it at all. You only need a small amount. We are very happy with the results
