Ok, I have to tell the truth. i buy these for my cat :)

For some reason, she LOVES pom poms. She carries them around, she sings to them, sometimes she drops them in her food dish or dunks them in the water dish... she LOVES them!

You probably aren't buying them for your cat, so maybe it helps to know that she also does try to rip them to shreds and these are standing up really well! So they seem to be good quality and will survive a cat attack!

I'm updating my review because it seems mine isn't the only kitty who likes pom poms!

I do think these particular pom poms are purrfect for cat toys (and cheap!). They are really soft and fluffy and pretty sturdy. She tries to pull them apart but they only shred in tiny bits of fluff. The filaments are about 3/4 inch, so they are easy to pass if she swallows them, but for the most part, the pom poms just get pulled wider, but they don't really come apart.

I would not buy the red ones again because when I see a little bit of red fluff on my sofa or in the litter box, my first thought is blood!! Then I realize it's only pom pom fluff and my heart starts beating again :)

Also, I think the 2 inch pom poms are the best size because that diameter is pretty much the size of real cat toys.

I have two other cats who couldn't care less about the pom pom toys, so they're not for every kitty, but they're pretty cheap, so worth giving a try.

So I inadvertently found a different use for these other than crafts. I buy them as cat toys. I put them in the container of catnip and give one or two to the cats every now and then. These are the cheapest cat toys ever! And the cats love them. Just food for thought to any cat lovers that may come across this and save some money. And as most of you know, the more you invest in a cat toy, the less likely cats will play with it, because that's how they roll. lol
