Best New Album!, September 20, 2009
This is the best new album I have found in a very long time. Great songs with catchy lyrics that you'll be singing along with on the second listen. Another Mat(t) singer/songwriter that has put together a fantasic album. There are comparisons to Mat Kearney and Matt Nathanson (both great artist in their own rights) but he has a unique voice that at times can remind me of Adam Duritz (Counting Crows). If you like Counting Crows, early John Mayer, Mat Kearney, Matt Nathanson, then you will love this album.

Exceptional Debut Album!, January 17, 2010
I heard Honey, Let Me Sing You A Song during an episode of NBC's Cougar Town last week and was surprised by it. I went to their website and hunted down the song. I started to listen to some of the tracks of this album and just fell in love with it. I got the whole album and was surprised by how strong all the tracks were. It's rare for me to enjoy a whole album from start to finish. This is a rare exception, so I felt compelled to share that with others. The last album that I felt this strongly about was Travis, The Man Who album which was great from the first to the last track. This is the same way. Matt Hires has such an incredible voice, it's strong and vulnerable, and the emotions in the songs shine through. I've been listening to it non-stop for a week now and instead of getting bored or sick, I'm growing more attached to the songs. If that isn't a great sign of a strong album, I don't know what is. I remember listening to Travis, The Man Who for over a whole year. Time will tell about this album, but it's worth the buy. My favorite songs keep changing with more plays, but I love Honey, Let Me Sing You a Song, A Perfect Day, You Are the One, Turn the Page, State Lines, O Sunrise, Out of the Dark, and more.
