What can you expect for a measly $7.00? Not much and that's really all you with these.

What they don't tell you is that this is not a proper dock as the pictures lead you to believe. Instead it has a cord coming out of the back that you're supposed to plug into your player's headphone jack. For the Zune HD this means you have to put the player in upside down since it's headphone jack is on the bottom. OK, not what I was hoping for but it'll work.

The one I got the right hand speaker didn't work and at $7.00 it'd cost almost as much to return them as they are worth! So into the electronic junk pile to await proper disposal.

My recommendation? Spend a little more and get something that works.

The sound is good but occasionally distorted. I think it comes down to your tolerance for bad sound, keeping in mind that the sound quality will be with you long after the savings has worn off. (It has outstanding sound for a $6 speaker and that doesn't mean it's particularly pleasant to listen to.)

If you plan on traveling with portable speakers and want to minimize bulk, keep the cost reasonable, and have a somewhat better listening experience consider this: iLuv iSP100BLK Mini Portable Speaker for MP3 Players and iPod (Black). It's more compact, more durable, and has considerably better sound.

To put it in perspective, I'm on a business trip and was given one of these as a "thank you" for filling out a survey. I've decided it's worth tossing it in my suitcase for the trip home... but just barely. However, the next time I travel and want to take along a portable speaker it won't be this one.

As a previous owner of these Portable Speakers I had to buy me another pair. The previous pair I had were owned from someone else back in high school and were in poor condition, so I ended up having to dispose of them after I had graduated. these pair are absolutely wonderful. they are loud enough to hear them from across the room depending on the size of the buyers room, mine is a fair size. the bass is dead on, it is clear and crisp and believe it or not the speakers actually have a boom to them, which means the speakers move up and down from the sound of the bass, it is just massive! the treble from the speakers are amazing, they are truly clear and crisp i have no problem with listening to the lyrics of songs. also these speakers hold about 4 AAA batteries in the compartment of the square base of the speakers. I cant remember exactly how long the batteries lasted but for me I believe it was about 3-5 days of constantly listening to them. they may not last as long if one was to be on them continuously day-in and day-out. they also have a DC connection which on the other end plugs into a usb connection. which is handy but would prefer a wall plug instead, it is just a little more convenient for others. im sure they make a special plug connection for these speakers i just haven't found it yet. they also have a led light on them to let people now that there is a power connection and that they are on which can also be turned off/on with a small power switch, it also has a volume dial so that the listener can adjust the volume to their desire. attached to the base of the speakers is a 6-8 inch auxiliary cable which allows you to connect to any device including laptops, pc's, phones, tablets, mp3 players, virtually any device and should be compatible with older and new devices.Read more ›

I needed a small docking station for my mp3 player for use in my office so I wasn't looking for anything too powerful or too big. This product actually did fit the bill. The only problem with it is that it negatively affects the MP3...example - if I go to change songs, sometimes it would skip ahead or back 1 or 2 songs past the one I wanted or if I tried to pause it, I would have to push the button several times before it would pause. It didn't do that at any other time or if I plugged it into a more powerful docking system. Overall I guess it worked ok - sound quality was alright; but it got annoying.

I bought these speakers because they were at a good price, and all the reviews said they were great. When I got them, one of the parts was missing, so I figured it was just a mistake and they'd mail them after I submitted my request. This was the third time I had to ask already, and I still haven't gotten my missing piece THAT I RIGHTFULLY PAID FOR. Also, the speakers I got worked fine at first, but the more you used them, the more static-y they got. At first, if you listened to music for more than a half an hour, they'd get that way. Now, if I turn them on for more than 10 minutes, they get like that.

My suggestion is that if you want to waste your time and have a really hassled purchase, this company is for you. If you want a speedy, reliable purchase, spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

Nice set of speakers for the zune 8GB. I am tickled I found them. Was a bit disappointed to find out when I received them to learn they needed batteries, which wasn't mentioned on the purchase page, or I missed it (If I missed it, then these little guys are worth 5 stars)!!
The sound quality is awesome, great little set up, it should be mentioned, you do have to turn them off when finished with listening to them unless you have the plug in for them. I don't, so I wasted the first set of batteries, LOL!
Overall, a great product if you don't forget to turn it off and as long as you know you need batteries to begin with.
