I was so disappointed in this accessory shelf. I really needed a good way to store my shoes or even my sweaters. I searched and looked and finally decided on the Honey Can Do, but honey you can't. Sure, assembly would have been quick if the pieces has been properly designed, but as it stands my shelf lists to one side and doesn't stand up at all. The light colored wood looks in the picture to be a similar color to my furniture in the bedroom, but it's actually pretty cheap and a tough knock could send it toppling over and breaking it. I am getting some use of it but leaning it up against the wall but it is nothing like the attractive multipurpose shelf described here. Now, I am once again looking for a shoe tree that well- really does what it is supposed to "do."

Update: Kudo's to the company for seeing the review and offering to replace my accessory shelf. They responded quickly and professionally. Unfortunately the second shelf did the exact same thing, listing to one side and wobbling. This time I didn't assemble it either so as to make sure it's not just me. One person tried. Didn't work. Another tried even tightening the inset covers that were popping out however after 5 tries no one could get it to assemble correctly.

Excellent customer service, so they probably have a number of excellent other products too. So far for me, this just isn't one of them.

My fiancee bought this as a shoe rack. It replaced a poopey one we bought at Wal-Mart. Hasn't falled apart or unhinged or anything yet. The picture is accurate and it's probably the best quality rack you can get for under 40 bucks.

It seemed like it would be easy to put together-but it turned out to be more difficult than I thought. Also it does not seem very sturdy. I ended up "donating" it to the room my husband uses for his home office just to get some paperwork up off the floor and organized-don't feel it's sturdy enough for anything with a little weight to it. Do not recommend this item.

This product is poor quality.
The pictures and description look just like the Whitmor product which is available on Amazon for about $4 more.
However, don't be deceived the quality of this product is not acceptable - the metal is flimsy, the wood frame is very thin and wobbly and the fasteners are plastic (even though they look like metal in the picture - the one I received had white plastic fasteners to join the shelf to the wood).
This poor quality construction is not conducive to holding 10-12 pairs of men's shoes and I suspect the shelves will sag and the fasteners will break in time.
I returned this product and ordered another Whitmor shelf that looks the same but has far superior quality.

Ok - so I read the the reviews that basically said it wobbled. And since I was putting it in a corner I didn't much care - cause how could it wobble that much. No one said shoes were flying off of it! And the truth is it doesn't wobble that much but it does wobble. But in a corner it's fine. Now cause I want it to last a while I hot glued a cut off yard stick to the back and the wobbling is gone (yes I had to use tools to do that).

The thing that was surprising was that the wood arrived split at the corners - like oppps we forgot to glue this one together (so I hot glued it back together). And all the shelves were slightly bent or had a kink in them. All in different spots, so it wasn't like the box took a hit and caused them all to bend or kink.

Now with shoes on it you don't notice the bends and for the cheap price I am not going to return it as it works and fits the bill. Especially with the hot glued hard stick on the back. And heck for an item that you don't have to have any tools to assemble (oh yup I did you a hand saw for the yard stick and had to heat up the hot glue gun) it works just fine. So I guess my advice is if you want something that's solid and comes perfect spend more money, get out your tools and put it together. If you need cheap and right now then go ahead and spend the less then $20 on this thing.

We like our 4-tier closet shoe shelf but we did have to add 2 small piece of wood (the same size as the wood on the frame) across the back to make it more sturdy. It was very wobbley without the back support. We like the product, it holds 12 pairs of shoes. We may even purchase 1 more but again we will add the extra two pieces of wood across the back to ensure stability.

This was very easy to put together, and it holds a lot of shoes! I have 9 pairs on it now, with room to spare. This is great if you have young kids, it's very easy for them to put their shoes away and get them out. Only complaint is that it feels a little wobbly, but it definitely hasn't fallen over or apart, and I've had to move it a few times while it's put together and full.
