This stuff is convenient for small wood repairs such as filling holes and scratches. It's superior to typical wood putties, many of which do not harden and are not suitable for anything larger than a small scratch. However, I don't think it's as strong as typical epoxy products where the hardener and agent are in separate containers and are mixed together manually.

Also, note that it is a light tan color as stated on the packaging. I was in a hurry when I ordered and didn't notice this, assuming that the color would be dark brown, as shown on the packaging. It would help others avoid this mistake if the packaging was less misleading. If you need a darker color, it will not take stain, so the only option is to paint it.

The screws on my kitchen cabinet doors were starting to get loose due to years of use. They started to shift a little downward. I had no clue what to do. Then I read a review someone wrote that I should use this putty to fill up the old screw hole and reinsert screw. This stuff works. All you do is knead it, and fill the hole. I waited about an hour and boom, its hard. I then redrilled the screw. Now the cabinet doors open and close great (no shift).
One negative thing is the smell. When your kneading it, omg, the smell is horrible. No big deal, The smell goes away after you wash hand.

I'd absolutely buy it again.

Months after moving into a new house, I noticed an issue with my front door, whereas the door was uneven within its frame. This was evident by the slight gap between the door and the weather-stripping along one the side of the door towards the bottom. At first, I thought the composite door was warped. But, upon closer inspection, the bottom hinge on the door was installed about 3/16" in the wrong direction; thereby pulling the door out of alignment from front to back. To shift the hinge plate that is attached to the actual door meant that I would be invading the existing holes in attempt to drill new hole locations; the new holes would be that close to the old. At first, my plan was going to plug the existing screw holes with toothpicks and wads of wood glue. However, I didn't know how the wood glue would respond to the door since I don't know if the door is wood or some sort of composite. I decided to try the Kwik Wood solution by J-B Weld even though I have never used their products before. I filled the holes with this stuff (packing it in tightly- it initially feels like play-dough). After waiting a little over an hour, this stuff became ROCK SOLID!!! I pre-drilled my new holes, and turned in the screws to attach the hingeplate as if this area was brand new! This stuff appears to be even stronger than the door material and has bonded to the door as if it were an integral part of the door. Great stuff all around!

KwikWood to the rescue! We had one of those door stoppers on our top door hinge and the other day I saw it was punctured through the door with a nice round hole. Yuck!

I found many different options to repair the door, but I wanted the easiest one - this stuff is particularly easy because it has all you need to fill the hole. All you do is knead the putty until the color is uniform, then put it on and wait about an hour or so, then you're good to sand and paint. Some stuff requires you to add glue or other paste, etc. but this stuff doesn't need anything else.

A tip to folks repairing a door hole - put in crumpled newspaper or any kind of paper in the hole first to act as a backing for putty, otherwise you will end up going through a lot more of the putty than you actually need.

This was a life saver!! My naughty pup ended up chewing the corner off of one of the pillar things we had in our apartment. This product was very easy to use. Just rip off some, move it around in your fingers to change the texture and make it moldable. Then I placed that over the damaged area. I continued this process (letting about 15 minutes - 1/2 hour) in between each layer because it was a very deep chunk missing and it was easier to build it up that way instead of trying to shape a huge amount of product. After I got it to the size I needed (slightly higher than the surrounding edges), I let it dry overnight and then sanded it down to smooth out the edges and make it even with the surrounding areas. Fresh paint and it looks really good!

I accidently deleted the "before" picture but have the "after" posted. I did another layer of paint afterwards to blend it in a little more, but overall I think it did a really great job!

Phew! That's an awful lot of different types of J-B. In the beginning there seemed to be only one (in the local stores anyway), just called J-B Weld as I recall.. In 20-25 years I was never without it. Then came KWIK. Really great stuff, way better than the original.. Now I see KWIK wood and KWIK plastic are offered. A few years ago the local stores stopped carrying J-B of any kind, I don't know what that was about but this was just after I'd bought my first KWIK (8276) so I used it and went without for a year or so. Thanks to the internet I'm restocked but I see I'll have to try the KWIK plastic now.

(I should add that this review is actually about the KWIK 8276, I typed it out in the wrong box, didn't want to waste all that painful typing)
