Since turning 40 I've suffered digestive distress. It didn't matter what I ate. Up until I was 40 I had the legendary "cast iron stomach." I ate hot sauce, spicy Indian food, chilies, Mexican food, tons of sweets, fast food, fried and raw onions, and drank alcohol; you name it and it was in my diet practically every day. After turning 40 it was like a switch had been flicked and literally everything led to intestinal issues no matter how benign and bland my food choices were. I tried probiotics alone; exercise; a bland diet; lactose-free and gluten-free eating; anti-infammatory drugs, supplements, and foods; lactose enzyme supplements; everything; and nothing helped. I even started a hydrotherapy colonic regimine. It was at the colonic that the provider mentioned that when we turn 40, sometimes our bodies stop producing as much of the digestive enzymes as it had in the past, and that my symptoms sounded very much like this could be my situation, so I decided to give digestive enzyme supplementation a try. I chose Enzymedica Digest Gold Plus Probiotics because of the excellent reviews, and after cross-checking its reputation on other sites, and I'm so glad I did I could cry. I've been taking it for 3 days now and every single abdominal symptom is gone. I've eaten greasy food, fried food, sweets, I've even had a little alcohol, and I'm prefectly fine. I feel like someone gave me my body back. In case it helps someone to determine dosage, I take 1 with small snacks and 2 with meals, and if my food includes dairy, I add an extra dairy-specific supplement, as well.

When I first saw this product in Whole Foods, I was a bit skeptical, and it was more expensive than here as well. But the store person said, "Just try one bottle, you will be hooked." She was right. Better than any antacid or digestive aid I have ever used before, this just seems to eliminate digestive problems from foods that might otherwise cause "distress" of many kinds, including gas, bloating, heart burn, etc. It just works for us. What more can you want?

Great enzymes. My stomach remained flatter throughout the month, including bloating times. Digestion is super smooth. It dramatically helps to reduce sugar cravings and overall cravings because your intestines are healthier. Excellent product. Will order again and again. Although I don't have any constipation issues, I would recommend it for those that do because you will see the difference in your digestion/bowels.

After 12 years on Prilosec, and being diagnosed recently with gall stones, I have realized what I needed all along... this product along with a substanial reduction of sugar in my diet has been such a relief! My 80 year old Mother is also using it now to aid in her digestion since she is operating with only part of her pancreas and no gall bladder! It's working fabulously for her, and she wants more! I have the probiotics from this same company and they work great but when mixed with the digest gold it hurt my stomach. It hurt for several days after I stopped taking them. I will never buy/take this product again. And it may work for some people but it just wasn't for me.

I tried Digest Gold with ATP and can't tolerate it.....causes mid and lower abdominal discomfort. Hopefully the Digest Gold with Probiotics does not contain ATPro or CoQ10 (both very difficult to process for many people).

My digestive issues responded better with the Enzymedica Digest Gold without the probiotics. For some reason I experience more bloating and gas with this one. I have used the Digest Gold for over two years and never had these effects with it. I thought it would be better with the combination of probiotics - but it is not for me.
