This review is based upon research and experiance owning and using small Krups Espresso Makers. I have never owned a 960 Series Mini. These were manufactured in early to mid 2000-2006 era. Some were manufactured in Switzerland also Portugal. It appears as though this model was very well made and was popular for many years. After increasing costs in manufacturing and competition with china's dirt cheap cloneing abilities the quality we all expect is now a thing of the past. These days the Krups 4 Cup Espresso Makers are manufactured in china and the quality is just not there as it once was in these Swiss made models. I have used the 1020 and now the XP1000 over the last 10 years or so. The 1020 was known for "expolding" if the ground was to fine, as the pressure saftey relief valve was unreliable. I used to " duck and cover" hiding behind the sofa untill the brew was ready to avoid being scalded and blinded upon the occasional nuclear blast. Then the XP1000 came around with a newly designed pressure valve and that problem is solved. However..if your grind is too fine and tamp too heavy...you could see the steam released from the side of the lid and everyone runs for cover. With that said...the only way to own one of these early European made Mini Models, is to find them on Ebay for around $60.00 or more at auction or an occasional seller on Amazon, notice the price at well over $100.00. I may have to "pull the trigger" on one of the scarce remaining Euro- Mini Models from Ebay just out of curiosity and devotion to Krups Mini Hi-Rev Makers from days gone bye when things were made well in places other than china.

I actually have owned this model for years! Had it boxed up for years....just dug it out and cleaned it. I paid about $80 back in the day! I plan to keep it and use it. Now that I am older I actually appreciate it more.☕️

I was a little skeptical about ordering this product. The ppl I ordered from, to my surprise sent me an email to let me know that it was going to take a few days longer because they were out of town. I told them it was no problem. I was so blown away that they took the time to let me know what the situation was, instead of these huge companies that don't care if you receive your order on time, that a few more days wasn't a big deal to me. I received my order just a few days later and it is in excellent condition. The box was slightly banged up but everything inside works great!! I love it and am so glad I got it! I use it every morning!😊
