Love this stuff, very easy to work with and reasonably priced. The Wilton stuff is like rubber and hard to roll out thin enough. I had no trouble with this. It also was not too sticky which was the problem I ran into when I used the Duff stuff. So far this is the best fondant I have used. It really doesn't dry out so if you want your pieces to stiffen up quickly or become completely hard you will need to mix in gumtex or gumpaste to accomplish that. I love this stuff. The black color was truely jet black too.

This fondant is black: black as night, black as coal, black as the depths of a soulless soul. Also, it doesn't taste bad, which is amazing, considering how truly black it is. I've not tried the Wilton, but my sister-in-law has, and she told me this tastes better.

I will preface this review with the fact that I'm a novice when it comes to fondant.

With that being said, my husband and I resorted to doing cupcakes for our son's birthday party after we realized that no bakery around us made Pokemon themed anything. After watching "Cake Boss" and "Ace of Cakes" a couple of times, I have to admit I was a little hesitant to even try working with fondant. However, my husband and I found working with Fondarific relatively easy. The coloring was exactly as it shown on the site. It came with additional information with directions for working with hardened fondant, storage and shelf life after being opened. I will say just a couple of seconds in the microwave does wonders for fondant. Though it makes it a little bit sticky for a short period of time.

End result......everything turned out great. Everyone at the party thought they were professionally done. (Even had a couple of people ask my husband and I for our business card).

I would highly recommend this fondant to anyone!!! Easy to work with and tastes great!!!

So, first let me say that I am giving this product 3 stars and that is because the instructions on the Fondarific fondant is not correct. When I first got the product, I read the instructions to microwave the product for 10 seconds if it was hard. Well, I microwaved it for 5 seconds in case my microwave ran hotter. Well, this product came out so soft, to roll out. So I googled and found that someone put it in the freezer and was able to recover it. That works! It puts it back to hard.

So, I started again with another new bucket, I just took it out hard and just rubbed it around in my hand...Low and behold ...your hand temperature softens it up enough roll.

Now, knowing these things would have helped.....The other thing is that you do need cornstarch to roll this product. I tried to roll it out on "The Mat" and it stuck to the mat even with cornstarch. What I found that works welll with this product is the x-large SilPat mat, it works so awesome and saved my day! By the way, do not put Crisco on this fondant to finish it or the mat, that will make it so so soft. Found that out the hard way too.

Once I got it rolled out transferred to the cake, it really does not sag, or have elephant skin and only require very little smoothing. The nice thing too is that the black comes out really shiny and pretty without having to use anything like PAM or Crisco on it.

I've typically used Wilton's fondant in the past, just to ease of access at stores near my home. But I wanted a better tasting fondant and I really do like the taste of this brand. It tastes a little more like marshmallow to me than buttercream, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing since I crumb coat in buttercream icing anyway. I was a little worried about the texture because Fondarific is more sticky out of the container, but once i got the hang of it I appreciated it because my decorations weren't drying out really fast and I had time to manipulate my decorations more. It does take a longer drying time, maybe 3-4 days depending on the size of your decorations. But so far, as far as taste and ease of use, I will be buying this product again. Would give it a 5 except for the price, though to be fair almost all decent fondant is what I consider to be expensive and this product is pretty comparable to the others of its quality. * Everything I am saying is based only on the Black Fondarific. Different colors may have different textures and qualities. I bought the wedding white too, but will review that after I use it this weekend.

Have never completely enrobbed a cake in fondant before. Previously used Charm Citys fondant for decorations but was unable to find it locally. Bought this based on customer reviews. I'm so glad I did. The taste was definitely better than expected and it was so easy to work with! Of note it says you do not need cornstarch. However, I found when you smooth it out once on your cake, your fondant smoother will stick unless you use it. Also, stood up beautifully in the refrigerator. I covered a vanilla cake with vanilla infused cream cheese frosting. No tears, no rips, no bubbles, and only some mild sweating when I took it out. In the fondants defense, it was 90° and humid! Will buy again in a heartbeat!

This was the first time I ever used fondant, the instructions were easy and it worked great. I had to roll out a large sheet, as I was using it on a 13*9" cake. DIdnt have any issues rolling it out. It did get a little sticky and it does still take some muscle to roll out a large sheet but it went on the cake easy and looked great. My son loved it and so did his friends. They all thought it tasted great. My husband even made me save the extra I cut off the cake so he could snack on it when he wanted too.
