BIG JEFF POISED FOR "VINCE GUARALDI ICONIC" STATUS!!!, November 14, 2009
Production-wise this is definitely Big Jeff's most accomplished CD and probably his best collection of songs in general. This is ideal for families who wish to provide their children with a multi-cultural seasonal experience. The great thing about this set is that adults don't have to be pestered with annoying sing-a-long type melodies that get locked in one's head all day; it's just as rewarding a listening experience for adults as well as kids.
Big Jeff presents to us an astonishing display of various musical genres - from disco to folk to world music. Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukhah and the winter season in general are warmly represented. Some of my favorites are "Hot Cocoa," with its addictive chorus; "Disco In the Snow,"(for disco freakazoids like me); "Sleepy Bears," which makes you feel cuddly; "Habari Gani," ideal for fans of THE LION KING; and "People Around Me," a great confessional power ballad that encapsulates the importance of love and support in one's life.
Run and pick up this album for yourself as well as your kids - a unique holiday listening experience.

Lots of fun, new stuff..., November 2, 2009
We love this newest release by one of our favorite songsters, Big Jeff. The songs are original and fun. The lyrics are really engaging and the tunes are fun and easy to sing along to. Everyone in my family has their favorites, but I love Small Flying Reindeer in the Sky due to its wonderful rhymes and its striking resemblance to a certain other Big Jeff song called Big Pterodactyl in the Sky... Also I love Jeff's re-do of Pachelbel's Cannon. It's fun, it's neat, and it's much better than learning classical music through the Disney TV show Little Einsteins, that's for sure!! Blue Sculpture of a cow is such a cute song about someone fulfilling a child's Christmas dream no matter how difficult.
The songs are cute, the music is catchy and memorable. We are truly enjoying this CD! Keep 'em coming, Jeff, you are charming and fun!

Kids Music Grown Ups Can Love, November 23, 2009
I knew something good was happening when I found myself skipping over my grown up CDs so I could listen to Big Jeff, Warm for the Winter, when I was alone in the car. My six year old son can't get enough of it and as it turns out, neither can I. I have picked up copies for my nieces and nephews and a few extra for winter birthday parties of his friends. Disco in the Snow is fantastic and you should see my son's moves when he dances to it, Hot Cocoa is totally singable, the Pachabel's Jammin' in D is a total winner and I like the inclusion of the Chanukkah song, 8 Candles, and the Kwanzaa song, Habari Gani. The use of a bunch of music styles means my son is hearing a bunch of different music and I get to see what really moves him. This is a real treat all around. I have, for the most part, banished children's music from my home because it is either tedious, badly played, or downright stupid. However, Big Jeff's Warm for the Winter is a lively, smart, funny, very nicely executed album that should be in every child's life (and it's clearly good enough for grown ups). I am now going to get all his other albums. Big Jeff's Halloween Routine and Big Jeff & His Middle-Sized Band
Buy this album and give it as a Chanukkah gift or a Xmas stocking stuffer or a birthday present. I only wish Big Jeff lived nearby so we could see him perform live.
