Got this stem to replace my older, heavier one. I was looking for one with a downward angle like this one and it works great!

All the parts, bolts, threading, and finish are excellent! Bolts thread in without any choppy, gritty feeling of poorly machined threads. The bar clamp GRIPS like no other, considerably better than my old stem. And the wedge does a perfect job of holding the stem in place.

Everything on this stem feels quality. I would buy this again if I come across another bike rebuild needing a new stem!

It's getting harder and harder to find quill stems in 1 inch threaded. Origin did a good job with this design. It's not going to impress your hard core cycling friends, but black quill stems are rare and I highly recommend this product if you need this style of stem.

Idk why I didn't notice all the branding. For such a classic style all this badging is insane. I ended up sanding off the logos and spray painting it. It looks very classy now. Seems to work fine, haven't ridden it yet. I can't imagine any problems though everything seems to be in order.

Cool product, but it would be nice if the seller would add a detailed image identifying specific dimensions. Diameter is to large for the bike frame I had in mind. Lmk if you know of a convenient way to evenly trim the diameter.

Great looking stem at a decent price. Note - it is just a re-branded Kalloy - so if you don't want the Origin8 logos you may be able to save a few $. Another note - I thought that i needed a 22.2 stem to fit my vintage steel road bike, but it turns out i need a 21.15, so now this one is at a machine shop getting turned down to the 21.15 size I need. Of course - that is costing twice as much as the stem.

I ordered the 25.4mm version of this stem to replace an old 25.4 stem It's definitely thinner in diameter than that. I had to grab a set of channel locks in order to pry the opening enough to get it onto my older drop bars. There's no taper on the head of the clamp, so tight handlebar bends are going to be a chore. I ended up with a scratched brand new stem and a beat up handlebar set. I will not be buying another origin8 product and will have to throw this stem away with the handlebars, as I cannot get the stem off of the bar set.

fits great, great quality, looks good, and works great for my vintage commuter rebuild. I just wish I had gotten a stem with a shorter reach, but that is my own issue.

Very good quill. Not the lightest, but performs its duties well. Have yet to encounter any problems after 4 months of hard riding on rough streets (8~10 miles daily). The black is a great look and is sure to make any bike pop.
