I never write reviews, so the very fact that I am writing one speaks to how pleased I am with this product. I bought two of these counter stools after searching for months for just the right size, color, look. I only had 36 inches for 2 stools and most are too big and too expensive. My kitchen is white cabinets and oak floor. These fit the criteria of color, size, style and dollars, but that is only half the story. I received them in about a week or less, opened the packages and was pleasantly surprised to find very clear instructions and labeling on everything. Every package of screws had their own label and tools were included! I put the first one together in a few minutes. It is sturdy, attractive and comfortable. Despite this, I did manage to switch the front legs on the second one I put together and didn't realize it. I thought there was a defect, so I contacted the manufacturer's service number listed on the instructions and got an immediate answer. They asked me to send a picture by email. I sent a picture and got a quick response diagnosing the problem. After making the switch, I have two stools that are absolutely perfect for my kitchen. So, add great service to the list, and I felt compelled to let others know about these stools.

I just received our 2 chairs that I ordered. Upon opening the boxes we noticed that two of the pieces, a front stretcher and a side stretcher were severely mangled. There are deep gouges as well as crumbling and puffing black paint. The boxes were in fine condition upon arrival so this is definitely a quality control issue. I have filled out the manufactures form on requesting a replacement part and will update this review upon a resolution. So now I will have one chair at our new kitchen island. I am very upset and disappointed right now.

I am updating below since my original post:

I called and went onto the manufacturers website to submit my request for replacement parts. They followed up with me within 24 hours and requested pictures of the problems I was describing. I sent them and within 24 hours they got back to me and let me know they were shipping out all the replacement parts I requested. They shipped me a completely new chair and there were no issues with the new one. The replacement arrived within a week. Overall I would purchase again but if you don't want a potential slight headache, you might want to select a different chair.

We bought these chairs to compliment the Home Styles Traditions Island with the same finishings and they really did the job well. The distressed oak matched perfectly, and they are comfortable and sturdy to sit in. There is some assembly required but it was a breeze. Glad we picked them, and for the price we are even more glad.

4 star because the rungs on the chair seem to attach poorly and I feel like they will be the first to go, but with several grandchildren climbing on them and several months into the purchase, they are holding up well. Nothing breaking yet and still look nice! Best of all the grandchildren haven't pulled them over on themselves or fallen off them due to the broad seat, well built back and balanced build.

These bar chairs have excellent proportions especially for larger folks. The seat particularly is very generously sized. They were tricky to put together, needed lots of patience, but look good once assembled. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the finish is a little sloppy. For the price though, I can live with it.

These chairs are beautiful. They're not super-difficult to put together, but they do require a good 15-20 minutes each. They are sturdy if you put them together carefully. But it's easy to put parts in the wrong place if you don't pay attention, in which case you'll have to take it apart and start over (which we did with one of the six we ordered).

I love the chair. It's beautiful. However was really disappointed after I put them together one of the chairs was milled incorrectly and the bars that go across on the bottom- the holes do not match each other and we're both slanted. The line was uneven and my husband had to make a new one. It was quite a big head ache especially when I spent what I spent on the product. Really disappointing.

They matched the look I was going for. Needed two for a kitchen Island. Nothing fancy, great price. You are getting what you pay for and I knew that from reading other reviews. If they fell apart in 5 years I would buy them again. Be patient putting them together, don't tighten until all pieces are on.
