This banjo is very attractive and has a great sound, but the set-up was very sloppy. First of all, the neck was attached so that the heel was not parallel to the rim. This can be fixed by loosening the two connecting rods and rotating the neck to the right spot. The bridge that came with it had a chip missing where the "G" string attaches, and it was so low that the strings buzzed. I put on a slightly higher bridge and a new set of strings, and it sounds great.

I'm just learning to play the banjo. Started out with a Fender beginner set to just see if I liked playing. Found out I did, so I ordered this beauty and a GoldTone BG-250. After playing this one I found out I like the sound of the open back. And this one sounds really good! Good for bluegrass and old time clawhammer. You can't see how beautiful the inlay really is in the picture. Blue green abalone along with the white inlay. It's Very fancy. My banjo teacher saw it when it came and showed me that he has the same one but added a back to it so it would be louder. It's loud enough for me. This one is worth the price.
