I wanted a large, tough, water tight tool box for all my camera equipment. Something I could toss in the back of the Jeep and not be concerned if I had the top off and it rained. I also wanted the ability to add locks/bicycle chain to secure it. I got what I wanted.

♦ Made of structural foam. It is solid and I feel it could take a lot of abuse.
♦ Well built. I can stand or sit on it without any bending.
♦ Large, but not as large as the description states.
♦ Metal closures on both sides allow for locking.
♦ Handle is thick and solid. I do not feel it is a weak point.
♦ Integrated handles on each end for heavy boxes or two people.
♦ One upper inside tray that can fit on either side. Will only fit on ends. Removable.
♦ 20 inch ruler on lid.
♦ Built in groove for carrying objects like pipes.
♦ Weight. Weighs a lot empty, about 10 pounds.
♦ Made in the US according to sticker.
♦ Product label on front is easily removed without any residue.

This is not a toolbox that someone can easily steal. Truck bed to truck bed maybe, but walking/running with this big clunker would draw attention. When this box is full of camera stuff, it is heavy and not easy to maneuver.

I am very pleased with this purchase and it was much better than I expected. A solid, well built toolbox. I like it so much, I am purchasing another one.

I'm an aircraft mechanic and I bought 4 of these to keep my tools organized and shadowed with foam. These are pretty good. Nice and big and the box themselves seem tough. The latches though do not seem well attached to the box. It looks like they will just pop off at any time. There is no "hard" attachment, just slightly molded into the box. I have to ship these boxes around the world for work, so as a precaution Im going to drill though them and bolt them on with some small bolts and nuts with a little loc-tite too. The locking system is a series of holes through the latches to put a bar though both of them. You'll either have to buy at least two locks each box or buy a some round rod or a 30" bolt and devise our own locking bar. I'm a bit dissappointed that it didn't come with a locking bar as it is clearly set up for it.

For the money, they are ok. I would not over load them though. All of the tools I need to work on aircraft fill a shoppong hand basket. I'm using 4 of these to organize and shadow them and thats enough weight for each if I want them to last.

It's about time.

I've been looking and waiting for a durable, waterproof toolbox for years. I bought the Stanley and so far so good. It feels tough, bits won't poke through it and you can sit on it at lunch time. It's currently holding three drills, two batteries, charger, and an assortment of smaller boxes holding bits and drivers - plenty of room.

When is the rest of this industry going to get a clue?

This is a well engineered toolbox by Stanley. The case is substantial and holds a lot of gear. There's a water-resistant gasket that keeps out moisture and dirt. The latches are large and secure -- with options for a pad lock. It takes quite a bit of force to open/close the latches, but I prefer this to looser types. The internal removable tray is great for a level, hammer, and various hand tools -- it's about two-thirds the length of the tool box, leaving room adjacent for larger items. Loaded up with my tools, it's pretty heavy. The handle seems sturdy -- and I believe it will hold up to daily use.

It's a good, sturdy, plastic box. It hasn't rained on mine yet (middle of a drought here), so no opportunity to check for water resistance. I have heaved it around a bit and my only caution to anyone using one of these is, "Don't over fill it."

The top carry handle parted company with my box this evening as I was lugging it toward the house. I was able to pop it back in with little damage to the handle other than some deformation and discoloration on the side of the handle that twisted and bent as the box headed toward the ground.

Putting it on the scale, the box & contents are ~57lbs 10-11lbs of that are probably the box, so figure probably 46-47lbs of tool. I think keeping the weight down to maybe 30lbs might be better for the box--and probably keep from stretching out my right arm so much, too. Of course, that means I need yet another box to carry the excess weight coming out of the first.

This toolbox seems pretty perfect in every way, but ever since I bought it, I have had a problem with both latches, and finally last week the left one popped right off, figure though as soon as I drill some holes and use some 1/4 20s, it will be better than new, nice tool box, gotta make smoother/better quality latches

This case is very sturdy. I read some of the negative reviews about hinges being weak, or the handle not being strong enough. I see no problem with the hinges or the handle. It all feels very solid. I can't say how this will hold up if someone tries to load a ton of heavy items, or subject it to a lot of abusive. I can just tell you with absolute certainty that this toolbox will be just fine for home use as long as it is taken care of. I included pictures to give an idea of its size. The 28" can fit plenty!
