This digital thickness gage works exactly as advertised. Very simple operation with minimal resistance on the lever operated opening mechanism. The only thing preventing this from being perfect is the fact that there is not quite enough force on the piston to hold a sample flat. If measuring a non-rigid sample you must support it and try to balance it out with your other hand or cut the sample down to very small size, because the weight of samples can force the piston upwards giving a false reading. This happens even with very light weight samples (<1oz). Overall a highly accurate tool that is easy to operate.

Great for measuring rubber gaskets. It takes the operator error out of the equation. This is worth the cost to buy.
