I've used the Garmin suction mount and the beanbag mount. I've stayed away from adhesive mounts because of the inability to move such mounts and whether the adhesive would last over time. I finally decided to try this mount after the dashboard/winndshield configuration of my new car made the other mounts suboptimal.

You simply peel the adhesive and stick the mount where you want. The adhesive is VERY strong; I barely touched a corner of the car console and the mount quickly became stuck. I had to be satisfied with a slightly crooked mounting because I was unable to adjust it for fear of messing up the adhesive.

Big advantage of this mount is that you can mount your Garmin closer to you and at a closer eye level then the other mounts. The Garmin is rock-solid and doesn't budge at all during regular use. There is a tension nut that lets you lock the stand in place. Time will tell if this adhesive will hold over time.

Edit: The mount became partially unglued today after two months of use. Living in the Southeast the summers get very hot, and the temps have been in the low-mid 90's most of the summer. My car was giving a temp reading of 108 when I started it up and noticed the mount had come loose. I was able to push the mount back into position and it's enough to hold the mount, though one day I may find it completely unglued.

Edit 2: Mount became completely unglued. I tried replacing the adhesive with 3M adhesive made for car trim. The adhesive was significantly weaker and could not withstand a hot summer day. Mount is useless now. Decided to try a vent mount rather than get another one. It's too bad because the adhesive allows alot more flexibility on where to mount your GPS.

I bought one of these little mounts two years ago because the suction mount was too bulky and the dash mount was in my line of sight. The first thing I liked about this mount is it is so small and needs little space to mount. I cleaned off an area on the dash below the 4-wheel drive controls of my H2 with denatured alcohol and let it dry. I am pleased to say the double sided tape that comes on this mount has held up under all conditions. The mount itself adjusts to various angles and has never slipped out of position. It works EXACTLY like a person would hope for. I like it so much I bought another on Amazon for a new pickup. Go ahead and buy this little mount with confidence. Just be sure to clean the area well before sticking the mount in place.

This is a great product, that Garmin and others should include in the box when you purchase a GPS. It is compact so that it does not stick out too far from the dash. The double-sided tape is a 3m product that is extremely strong. For the price you cannot go wrong with this product.

This product, is difficult to find, however once acquired you'll wish the Garmin Nuvi's shipped with them. The mount is the most versatile of all the mounts I've considered and actually use. In fact I recommend them to everybody who uses Garmin Nuvi GPSs. I use one in my car, truck, on both of my Harleys, and my Girlfriend's Jeep. The small size is ideal for use where the provided suction cup mount won't work, pretty much everywhere except the windshield... Get one of your own and you'll soon be recommending them to your friends.

this mount is perfect for my needs. it eliminated the need to have with or store the bulky suction cup mount...which i never liked using anyway and i never had much luck with other style gps mounts either.

In deciding to purchase a Garmin Nuvi, I also researched many different mounts to try and find the perfect set-up to use in my older Ford Explorer. I didn't want to glue a disc to the top of my dash.. and in fact there aren't a lot of flat areas to use near the driver in this vehicle. The vent clip mount was spectacularly unsuccessful! Luckily, one of my purchases (as a matter of fact the most inexpensive of all) was this ChargerCity Adhesive Mount. I found the underside of a flat ridge, just below the radio, big enough to place this mount. I had already decided that I would also sink a small 3/8" metal screw into each corner of the mounting plate, just to be sure that it didn't loosen.. but the 3M adhesive that is used on this mount is some serious glue. I don't believe I would have needed to add the screws. In fact be sure it's where you want it when you peel the paper and place it. I would hate to try and wrestle this thing off, after once touching the adhesive to any surface!

The nuvi clip that holds the GPS and attaches to this (or any) mount is a very tight fit. You need to use a little muscle to push it on and pull it off of the ball part of the mount. It is absolutely no problem with this spot on my dash and the solidness of this mount itself.

The ChargerCity Adhesive Mount couldn't have been designed to be any more effective than it is.. and I couldn't be any happier with it than I am!

This works perfectly. Clean the area on the dash with rubbing alcohol first. Once dry, peel the backing off and press into place. I let mine sit for 24 hours before attaching the GPS unit to it. If I tried to remove the mount I'm afraid I'd rip the finish off the dash, so unless it falls off in the future, it's there for good. Plenty of swivel room too. Love it, and highly recommended.
