I never thought I'd be one of those owners who bought a muzzle for their CAT, but I'd exhausted every option and still couldn't find a way to clip our boy cat's nails without him trying to take off my fingers (or my nose). So I gave in and bought this muzzle. The first time we used it, he stayed completely still, and I had his nails clipped in under a minute! He was fine and I was so relieved.

I definitely recommend this for cat owners in need, and it's also good to know I have this on hand if I ever need to handle an injured or upset cat.

I purchased this muzzle in order to clip my cats nails without being bitten or scratched. I was a bit hesitant to order it, in fear that my cat would absolutely flip out once it was on his head, but since the price was low enough I took a chance. My cat remained completely still when I put the muzzle on - no squirming, no fussing - he was a statue. I was able to clip his nails in under five minutes. All cats are different so it may not work as well for you, but in my case it was well worth the price.

While this muzzle is easy to get on/off and should work well on the average cat, if you have a breed that has a short muzzle, you will need to find something with a more secure fit. This muzzle is really designed for a cat that has the long roman style nose or the typical asian breeds. Since this covers the majority of cat breeds and "mutts" found in the United States this makes sense, but any cat with a short muzzle, "wedge style" head or flat face will be able to wiggle out of this in no time flat.

My cat goes nuts when he gets shaved at the groomers, but his hair is so long it has to be done. He was freaking out and I put the muzzle on him. He tried to get it off a little bit, but he calmed right down. It stayed on great! Love this product!

We were unable to get the terrible matting out of our long haired 16 yr old cat. She doesn't like it, but this allows us to hold her gently, without her biting, to do many more minutes of cutting out the matting. When removed, she just sits there, so I don't think it is too traumatic for her.

She seems much more comfortable without the matts

I bought this for my cat who can get mats and hates being brushed. He will bite you if you try to brush him. I used the muzzle so I can get a scissors and cut mats off. The muzzle usually works long enought to get one off (about 5 minutes) after that he usually figures out how to get the velcro loose. If you have a short term use like I describe it will be fine. You can get longer use of the muzzle for grooming if you have an assistant to talk to and gently restrain the cat. With help it stays on 10 minutes. I try not to pursue grooming any longer than that anyway it stresses the cat out.
