I started pulling up Sesame Street for my little guy awhile back. Watching this show as a little girl taught me how to read, well before I would have learned in school. Even though its changed a great deal in the style of content delivery and the set is more 'clean' (seriously, watch some vintage episodes, the Street was not so polished back then), I still find it has awesome educational value. I know not everyone would agree with that - tons of people I know look down their nose at the show now because its changed over time, but one thing I think every adult that takes issue with it needs to keep one thing in mind:

It is a show for children.

Sure, there are some jokes the adults would get, but it is a children's show. Its not there to entertain or educate us, the grown ups, about letters and numbers. We already know them, the young children that this show is geared toward, do not. Sesame Street still offers the same learning experiences to children that it did when I was a child, with some new things that they didn't do when I was a little one.

All in all, I'm glad that I can share this show that was special to me as a child, with my little man as he grows up.

Well, I liked it at first and then when I went back to watch another episode with my son, it was no longer available on Prime. Not cool.

Season 35 has a lot of Big Bird in it, Bert and Ernie too. It's really nice to see the more 'classic' muppets having more of an important role.

As my daughter gets older it's been a challenge getting ready in the morning for work. She just wants to be entertained and I can't always be right there making her laugh while we get dressed for work. If we put on Sesame Street, she is entertained for a while and it's helpful for us! She'll play on her play-mat or saucer while watching the show! LOVE IT!

I would not even be tuned in to Sesame Street. I am 68 years old so I don't watch it. But I care for my great grandson 2 days a week & he just loves loves loves Elmo. he is 15 months old and he will give me my Kindle Fire and say Elmo Elmo. It is so cute. He sleeps with him eats with him. I haven't seen one that goes in the water yet. He would love that..

I have a 4-month grandson whom I am caring for every day. As I did my own children many years ago, I put him in his bouncy seat and turn on Sesame Street and he does not take his eyes off the TV. The learning, bright color, action, etc. keeps children so interested even at this young age. My own children grew up with Sesame Street.

Great programming. I just wish they'd not incorporate the intentional lisp on Baby Bear, and to a lesser extent with Elmo. That being said, there are MUCH worse things our children could be watching.

I watched Sesame Street when I was a little kid back in the 70's, and still enjoy it to this day when my son watches it.

My son enjoys the Sesame Street show and I have for many years. The earlier seasons were by far much better than they were later on. Season 35 is good and enjoyable, but not close to the level I was used to during its first 10 years. Since we get it free with Prime, I'm not worried about it, but I wouldn't pay for it.
