When they say "5/8"", what they really mean is that is the entire length of the body - NOT that it is designed to fit through a hole that is 5/8" deep! I had a camper hatch that was about 5/8" deep, and this didn't protrude enough through that hole to even begin to thread the nut - in fact, you could not even see the first thread... They should be more explicit when they give dimensions - to go through a 5/8" deep hole requires you to have a 7/8" long lock just to thread the nut! Sure wish they would have said that! I can't use it now...

I got this package and everything looked good. I then found that I neded and inch and a quarter length instead of 7/8". I am trying to replace a key latch device with this thumb lock device, as I don't want to have to use a key to open then close the panel each time I want to access the contents of the hatch. I went back and ordered another longer Offset Cam Lock. Hopefully will get the correct size. My fault for not measuring the first one.

Bought to replace the original one that broke on my 2015 Keystone Cougar. This is not the replacement part. Before ordering this for your RV, you should contact your RV MFG parts department for the item number. Note the Dealer parts department who suggest this.
This did work well enough as a temp replacement until I could get my dealer to replace with the correct one they ordered from Keystone under my Warranty.
Very sturdy, And actually much nicer than the originals on my RV Unit. Unfortunately the latch that came with the part wasn't exactly correct. Just remember, to make it part of your "RV close down routine" prior to departure to tighten the screw that holds on your latch.

works as described but the lengths of the cams need to be posted so that buyers will know how it compares to the one they are replacing. I had to grind some off of mine to get it to fit but it is better being too long than too short I guess

I bpurchased a used camper that had the key-type cam locks, but the owner had lost the keys. so instead of getting a direct replacement where i lose the keys, i opted for this product. installation quite literally takes 2 minutes, the product seems like it's good quality, and given the price, this is a great product. also, i'm not sure why the description says 7/8" - the hole diameter for this lock is 3/4". if the cutout was 7/8", you'd likely have too much play, and the lock wouldn't work well.

This cam lock was exactly what I ordered BUT I made the mistake of guessing the size. Be sure to measure first! Amazon is allowing me to return it but I have to pay for the shipping since it was my mistake.

Easy to replace old lock. Quality product. I ordered the correct size, but a heads up, also measure the old locking tab and if possible check against new one. I had to do adjustments to wood frame to get a good fit for locking tab.

Swapped these for the locking cams that came on the front window rock guard of my travel trailer. No idea why you'd need them to lock. Keys are never where I need them, so removed the locking ones in exchange for these. Work like a champ.
