Directions
Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly. Recommended Daily Feeding: Puppies start to nibble solid foods at 3-4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Pro Plan available at all times. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6-8 weeks). After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. You can gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving some food in the bowl. Don't misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn't overeat and stays in ideal body condition. Nestle Purina research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight a reduction of your puppy's daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program. This product is not appropriate for large or giant breed puppies. Feeding for Reproduction: Pro Plan provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation. Making the Switch to Pro Plan: Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Store in a cool, dry place.

My old girl Pokey (she's almost 13!) has pancreatitis, requiring frequent feedings and not just any kind of dog food. She was on Purina Veterinarian Formula EN for several years, which served her very well, but budget constraints and the requirement of a vet's RX to obtain the food caused me to seek out a similar quality alternative. I first tried Blue Buffalo for a few months due to the rave reviews, and even though she *loved* the taste, her constant gas got so bad she could clear a room - herself included!

After much research, I found Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach, took the plunge and gave it a try.

Success!

Not only does she love the taste, her gas is now limited only to when she's naughty and gets into something she shouldn't (such as an ENTIRE bag of caramels), and albeit still lethal, her tummy is back on track. When that happens, I simply sprinkle digestive enzymes on her food for a few days then things are OK again. She also no longer has vomiting or gagging episodes I'm certain other parents of pets with pancreatitis are all too familiar with. The price is right, too...nearly $40 LESS per month than the veterinarian stuff. AND I can buy it here on Amazon or my local feed store.

A head's up - it contains salmon, so the moment you open the bag, you're going to want to gag. It smells worse than cheap cat food, so it's best advised to keep it sealed in some sort of plastic food hopper. However, that's a small price to pay for your "child's" health and happiness.

My dogs have very sensitive skin and they itch and scratch all the time when I fed them regular dog food. When I switched to Pro Plan Sensitive Skin, all their problems went away. Recommend this!

I know feeding my dog Purina is controversial. Well, I've fed her the expensive stuff, solid gold, Canidae, blue buffalo, etc. Izzy is a rescue dog who was about 15 months when we got her. From almost day one for the last five years. she had stomach issues and allergies. About once a month she'd get colitis and have horrible mucous poo. I know, gross, imagine how we felt. She is beautifully house trained but the poor thing would be whining by the door, running out, having horrible runs. Around Thanksgiving of last year she got really sick to the point of being clinically dehydrated. We took her to the vet and she had to be hydrated with the fluid under her skin. Many dollars of tests later and they still had no idea, she didn't have worms, Pancreatic infection etc, we had a whole lot of what she didn't have. I was desperate and did a web search for food made in the USA for dogs with stomach issues.

We started feeding her the Purina the first of Dec. She has had one, one bout of diarrhea since then, and I think it's because I gave her some duck liver at christmas and her tummy just can't handle any rich food. Between the Purina Pro Plan and the tsp of active culture yogurt daily she is doing great. Her coat is shiny, she gained a pound, she has energy and she has stopped the once or twice a month diarrhea episodes.

Purina Pro Plan sensitive stomach has really worked for Izzy. She is healthy, happy, and her stools are nice and solid. I wish we had tried it years ago, but I was put off by all the bad press Purina has. I don't know about the rest of their products, but I recommend this to anyone who's dog is not doing well with other foods.

I have a golden retriever that had severe allergies. He had ear infections several times and a recent skin infection. My vet recommended Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach formula. Since he has been on it (about 3 big bags) there have been no issues with allergies at all. His ears look excellent and no sign of skin rashes or infections. A little pricey but my Hank is worth it!

my poor labradoodle has had yeast sores on his abdomen, chest, and inner thigh area since I can remember. no food ever helped. I'd give him prescription medicated shampoo soaks, my vet gave me antibiotics (which only worked temporarily), and I would shave his underside to get more air on his skin. I used to use Wellness dog food, and it was expensive and supposedly one of the absolute best! This one is BETTER, to my chagrin. The scabs are GONE! I'm in shock...and his poops are less, which means there are more nutrients in the food and he is absorbing more in his system. His poops are more solid as they always were 'slightly' soft with Wellness. All around, this food surpasses the latter. And for less money! I will keep him on this going forward. I highly recommend. PS. If you have a dog that gets alot of ear infections, this will help as well...labradoodles are notorious for ear infections as their ears are big and floppy, not allowing much air to get in. That has also resolved itself since my dog food change. I hope this helps.

I have greyhounds and they have sensitive stomachs. After speaking with other grey owners, I decided to try this food as it is less expensive than Wellness. It seems to agree with them just fine! Whew!
Do not, however, buy it from Pet Food Direct! Where do they get off charging Almost $14.00 for delivery?!?!
It is sold at Petco, Petsmart and Pet Supplies Plus.
