    You've probably heard about the MBT shoes which are not just footwear, but an exercise experience. Mephisto did them one better with their Sano shoes. I've tried on both and picked the Mephisto because the balance of the shoes is better and the Sanos are just more comfortable overall.

    Like the MBT, you will have to learn a new style of walking for the Sano. You will be walking on the ball of your foot. The first time you wear these shoes you will be surprised at how many new muscles you use, but you will be strengthening your balance and precision.

    One caution: if you tend to walk a lot uphill or rock back on your heels, you may not want these shoes. The heel is angled so you rest more on the ball of your foot. This angle makes it harder for me to walk up inclines. Otherwise, a great shoe and a step up from the All-Rounder which is a favorite of mine.

    These are comfortable, durable shoes. If you don't have arch issues, they are great shoes. However, if you have high arches or plantar fasciitis, you may have to insert an additional arch support.

    Update: These shoes are very much improved with a pair of 'Dr. Scholl's Hidden Arch Supports'. Also, if you have 'C' width feet, buy a half size up as the shoes narrow at the toes.

    These are wonderful shoes. I now own them in several colors, and have worn them for years. With the mary jane styling, they are less clunky-looking than a sneaker, and are extremely comfortable for walking and everyday wear. The removable insoles allow me to replace them with my custom orthotics. The quality is great, with soft leather linings and two adjustable straps. I have a narrow heel so it's great to be able to adjust the second strap at the heel.

    I rarely write reviews, but it was painful to see someone trashing this fantastic shoe!

    I bought these a while ago when I was working on my feet all day and I have a condition that makes my hips feel arthritic. My husband HATES the way they look, but I do NOT care! They are the difference between barely being able to get out of the car after a day of work and being able to go to the gym and work out after work!!!

    They are recommended by podiatrists, very durable, and if you wear them on a walk (4 miles or more) you will feel your butt muscles the next day!!!

    NOT FOR RUNNING

    If you work on your feet all day and your hips hurt, BUY THESE SHOES! They will change everything. I am pregnant now and I wear these things every chance I get!

    I started wearing Mephito shoes about 14 years ago on the recommendation of a cousin who is a podiatrist. I was suffering from fibromyalgia and Mephito shoes made a significant impact on the amount of pain I was experiencing.

    The only thing I would caution someone who has never worn Mephistoes, is NOT to buy them in a department store, but to purchase at least your first pair from a Mephito store where the staff has been trained by Mephisto. They do not fit and are not supposed to fit the way other shoes fit. I wear a 7.5 in most other brands, when I wear other brands, but an 8.5 in Mephistoes. I recall when buying my first pair in Seattle, feeling that they didn't fit correctly. The store manager said, "Wear them for a few days, and if you still feel they do not fit, we will give you a refund."

    I have been wearing, almost exclusively, Mephistoes ever since.

    The sano shoes I loved it since the moment I tried on while in the store. The only problem is that they did not have a bigger size than mine but I bought it any way as a 1/2 size smaller. I will buy a bigger size and try both. I paid $265 two years ago and it was worth to pay it. I reconmend the sano shoes for the confort of your feet to walk all day long. I have not have good experience with the walking sandals since they have a hard insider platform and I will have to return them all back.

    Finally ❗️Got hold of the shoes . Get one size up . If you are size 9.5 go for 10.5 . I got 10.5 and it's perfect ! This is better than MBT . Looks better actual than picture product . Zero heel pain ! A cure for people suffering plantar facilities . Wish they come up with more designs .
