I finally gave up on trying to straighten the neck on the Jay Turser Telecaster that I had picked up cheap. I had already upgraded the pickups (Nocaster '51s), rewired & replaced the switches, and replaced the tuning machines, but I could not get rid of a buzz in the neck. I had already put more money into the project than planned, but I ponied up another $90 for the Mighty Mite Telecaster Replacement Neck w/Maple Fingerboard. Apparently I should have started with replacing the neck! From the second I tightened the final bolt and installed the last tuning machine the 'project' has been complete. Now I did have to do a final sanding with 600-grit sandpaper and then spray 5 coats of a nitro finish (I used Deft Clear Wood Finish semi-gloss that I picked up at the local Woodcraft store), but once installed, the Tele was ready to go - WOW! This neck is so smooth and perfect. I only had to lower the action about 1/8" and haven't stopped playing since. And to think of all the time I could have saved trying to fix the old neck by just buying the Mighty Mite neck to start the project rather than as the final piece!

Had a buzzer at the 13th fret that I was able to level before I polished the frets and applied a Tung Oil finish which brought out the grain beautifully. I installed Fender locking tuners, LSR nut, and, coupled with the Fender Bigsby, it sounds great with lots of sustain. No problem with setup or staying in tune. This is a "standard" neck in that the truss only corrects one way and that is up toward the frets. It will not "bi-flex" to put a downward bow into the neck. You will have to set bridge and nut height to be compatible for your preferred strum style. This is great for a finger picking style or a light pick. Not really a "Metal" neck. The neck was perfectly straight with the truss all the way loose as I used a Luther leveling rule to check it. It's a great neck for the purpose intended. Slightly shorter fret spacing and narrower neck width. Better suited for playing scale patterns vs. chords progressions. Most especially if you have very thick fingers. I can see someone with thick fingers having trouble chording on this neck. Not that it wouldn't be possible but you would have to work at it a little. I have "average" width fingers and had no problems playing chords or scales. It is more comfortable and faster to me than the standard "wide" boards out there when scaling.
Just wanted to help people make an informed decision and save some time and aggravation.

I bought this neck for my first guitar build, and it worked perfectly. The neck came quickly, and packaged well. It was as straight as an arrow when it arrived. I'll be buying more of these in the future for other builds.

Nice Tele neck with a soft V profile, 22 frets w/ fretboard extension, so its not made to vintage specs. Also the tuning peg holes are 10.5mm, so keep that in mind when selecting tuners. The nut is plastic, so figure on replacing that with a decent nut made from bone or a material like Corian. The truss rod adjustment is located at the headstock, similar to many MIM Fenders. The frets are very uniform, but you'll want to give them a good polish before you play. This neck's features may not be to everyone's liking, but apart from the nut you can't fault the quality. Max bang for the buck!
