Unfortunately, these bowls were just too "cheap" feeling to use with guests. It turns out 'melamine' is just fancy speak for 'plastic.' They are light and seem sturdy, but just don't have a premium feel. Probably fine for basic home use - but guessing if you are buying square bowls, you are planning to use them for guests and value presentation, in which case, these are NOT the bowls for you.
