Based on every sizing chart I saw for this backpack, the xxsmall should have not only fit my dog, but have been plenty big. It was too small. It does seem like a nice pack though and it would have worked with my dog's harness for walks. Amazon was very kind and I sent it back so that I could get a size larger. (x-small)They sent me a backpack. What I got was the correct color, and the correct brand, but what I'm assuming was the old style. I was very upset as it was not a cheap item for my 12 lb dog, and this was my second backpack that wouldn't work. This other style of backpack did not look nearly as nice or nearly as well made. Plus it would not work with my dog's harness. I tried contacting Amazon several times to see if they could send me the backpack pictured at the time of ordering and all they would say they could do is refund my money. I finally gave up and decided to go with a different pack. I don't like it nearly as well, but it's much cheaper and will work just fine.

the pockets are pretty small if you want to fit anything other than a small weight in there. Had to seperate my gps device into ttwo pieces to put one in each side of the bag

We love this for our little puppy who has an abundance of energy and loves to go on walks. We had trouble keeping in from pulling so we bought this and filled it with a little bit of sand. Makes his work harder and makes our walks better.
