I work as a professional mechanic and there are few tools that feel comfortable purchasing for work as they are not designed for the rigorous applications that a profession mechanic would used them. But GearWrench is one brand that I feel comfortable purchasing. I have yet to use this but I know it will work when I need it. This size I purchased to use on the newer Audi and VW axle bolt.

Excellent quality tool, but unfortunately it would not fit in limited space for removal of differential fluid drain plug of my 1996 328I BMW.
If hex could be separated from chrome holder and a 14mm wrench used on remaining hex it would work.
Very happy with tool quality and quick service received in less than 24 hrs.

I work at an Audi dealer, this gets tons of use loosening and tightening axle bolts, which have to be tightened to 150 nM and then an additional 180 degrees. Still going strong over a year later, never broke or wore down.

I bought this car to take out the drain and filler plugs on the differential for my e36 M3. The tool fits the plug heads, but I haven't got nearly enough clearance to unscrew them. Apparently though, the universal trick is to pound the hex insert on a tool like this and use a box end wrench. I haven't tried this yet so I don't even know if the insert will pop out. Just thought I'd post this info in case any other BMW drivers happen upon this tool in search of the same thing as me. Also, before you buy check out Harbor Freight's website. I noticed they sold similar tools to this one after I already bought this one.

I needed this tool to unscrew a freeze plug from my car. Although the stubborn plug remains in place to this day, it was not do to any fault of the tool itself. I was able to put around 250ft-lbs on the plug and it still looks OK. This isn't a really high quality tool, but its far better than the cheap crap at somewhere like harbor freight.
