I was looking for some inexpensive SATA III cables and stumbled upon these.

I'm using them in my mini-ITX with Crucial SATA III SSDs. They are nice/sturdy/shielded cables and provide good performance. Using Passmark Performance Test benchmark I am getting 260MB/s with the SSDs - which is pretty good, though still not above 3Gb/s of SATA II.

The length is a bit long for the mini-ITX case, but price/quality were my first two requirements - I coiled/stuffed the extra cable in nooks/crannies where possible.

The locking works well, though slightly difficult to get off - which is possibly a result of the small space I have to work with inside my mini-ITX.

For a standard ATX case/build these will be an excellent option.

I'll probably purchase a few additional just to keep around.

Update:
11/26/2011 - please don't use my throughput benchmark as basis for judgement on these cables. My 260MB/s is low most likely because I cannot run the machine in AHCI mode with the SSD. In AHCI mode, I know people are pushing 500MB/s with the Crucial SSDs.

I bought 7 of those Sata wires all together to do some major rewiring inside my PC, I like how they look with the case inside light they were easy to put in and organize out of all 7 that I bought 7 are working and fully operational as I'm typing this review
As for the 6GB/s transfer speed for me I'm using HDD's but I did notice a slight improvement and yes my motherboard SATA plugs are 6GB/s ready. [you need to make sure your motherboard is 6GB/s ready to fully utilize those wires]. also for those of you who got 3GB/s motherboards, 2 of my 7 Wires are running on 3GB/s ports and they seem to be compatiable and working fine
they stick in place and make for easy connecting thanks to the tilted head.
now all my case Sata wires are matching and neatly organized.
I recommend those Sata wires

I purchased this Sata III cable because I needed a cable that would support 6Gb/s transfer rate for my hard drive. The plastic sleeves at the connectors seemed sturdy, the cable securely snaps into place and is not loose. Best of all, the cable arrived before the first date in the expected delivery range. All around good product.

These cables work fine, as well as looking rather nice (which is kind of pointless on an internal component, but oh well). One problem I ran into, however: The right-angle cable would only plug into my motherboard pointing down (or towards the case), not up (away from the case), which meant I had to use the bulkier straight connector there instead. That's not the manufacturer's fault, but something to be aware of. I was hoping to use the angled connector to slip into that somewhat crowded area, but wasn't able to do so. I just used that end on my hard drive instead, and it's fine.

The right angle connector might not route the cable in the direction you had in mind. You might be better off with straight ends.

In my case, the L end went in the wrong direction. I was able to make it work, but the right angle feature was a liablilty -- not what I had in mind.

On this cable (shipped by koolertek) the contacts are on the INSIDE of the L, The cable is sent off to the same side that the device's metal contacts face.

Not a criticism, just a heads-up.

This cable failed almost right after I got it and it took me forever to figure it out. I didn't have an extra one to test and the errors I was getting were weird, so I didn't really think it was this. But after not using my computer out of frustration for a while (I had a work laptop and no time for games), I decided to either figure it out or build a new system. To that end, I ordered a new PSU. Since I couldn't tell the errors as they were pretty random, I thought maybe I was overpowering my PSU. That of course did not resolve the issue. Fearing the worst, I found an old mother board that came with my processor but I had never used. I opened it up to look and there were 2 SATA cables! After switching out the cable and scanning for changes, it immediately discovered the new hard drive. This cable went out within the first month of ownership, but it took a lot longer to pinpoint.
Basically, my write times went to heck on multiple drives and eventually, this one stopped showing up.

The product was not designed correctly. It is too wide and cannot be used to connect to SSD/ HDD. that is, when tyring to connect the SATA to a SSD/ HDD, this SATA cable is too wide and hits the power connector to the SSD / HDD. Who are these people that rated this 5 stars? one of the last reviews (early Jan'13 by Eric) noted this same problem.

It looks nice and I've used this brand in the past but today I decided I have my doubts. I was installing a new hard drive and was beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why I was getting S.M.A.R.T status errors. I said to myself "no, a new cable wouldn't cause issues!" Turns out a piece of crap cable I had laying around from 2006 works and this one doesn't. This company has lost my business if they can't manufacture a new cable properly. I have since ripped out all the old ones from my PC's.

I do not recommend this junk.
