If your document has a lot of white space this would be fine. But if there is any sort of decorative edging or anything it's going to be lost behind the frame. When they say 8.5x11, they mean that the paper will fit, not that the whole doc will show. It would be good for matting something smaller though.

This frame is meant to be placed on a surface (shelf, desk, etc).
It really isn't suitable for hanging on walls.
The easel sticks out of the back, which makes the frame lopsided when hung on a wall.

The product images should show the back of the frame.

I purchased these frames for a couple of professional certifications that I wanted to hang in my cube on cloth walls. The frames look nice and are light-weight enough that they hung quite well and seem to be staying solidly. Downgrade of one star because they are pricey for what they are/ what they are made of.

These frames are great! The certificate fits perfectly. The frame has clips on the back to hang in both portrait and landscape orientation and a sturdy easel if you wish to place the frame on a desk (which is what I did).

We were hoping to be able to mount this to the wall but the frame mounting choices did not make it an easy job because there were two hooks to have to align instead of one. For such a small size and light weight frame, one wall mounting hook would have been sufficient.

Nice frame, but there should be more than one metal 'lever' to secure the back to the frame and the hooks for hanging are placed too high on the back to use picture wire; the hook is visible. Had to string wire from one of the hooks and the metal 'lever' and then affix the lever with tape
