This stuff is messy to use and can provide excellent results. Imagine working with a candle that has been warmed in the sun for a while. That's about the consistency of this stuff. Once smeared on and exposed to light for a short while it will glow quite brightly. Kind of like the hands on a watch.

It is worth mentioning that the material is essentially invisible in daylight.

My "trick" for turning the smearing gobs into precise, detailed letters and symbols is with either a drill or a Dremel 290-01 0.2 Amp 7,200 Stroke Per Minute Engraver. With the engraver, I write whatever I want to show up as glowing, smear this stuff over the engraved area, and then wipe it away with a tissue. The result is that the "stuff" stays in the engraving and is removed from everyplace else. I use the drill to put a small hole PART WAY into material and then do the same smearing and wiping. A good use for the "small dot" is to identify key controls for devices that I sometimes use when the lights are out.

The result is to have a nice luminescent indicator dot. In both cases since the "writing" is sent into the surface it is nearly permanent. It also means that I can see what I've written even when the lights are on.

Finally, be sure to check all the listing for "Glow-in-the-dark marker". This product is listed several times on Amazon with different product and shipping costs.

Pretty much a permanent crayon. Same consistency but dries permanent. Twist the base to push more (solid) paint out. If you can use a deodorant, this should be pretty easy to pick up.

Took a star off because the surface needs to be pretty textured to get a good color. Writing on textured plastic looks okay, but writing on smooth surfaces looks like water paint. Fairly easy to clean when it's just used, but dries solid and permanent (as advertised)

Do not use this pen on walls if your are going to paint the wall. I use this to mark concrete floor for framing applications. The ink is permanent. The ink is bright. The markings are broad. I use it in interior applications and the markings did not fade.

This product works perfectly on automobile windows, which is the reason I purchased it. Doesnt wash off in the rain, and scrapes off easily with a razor blade :)

I've been using this for general laboratory marking as a replacement for my usual Sharpie Industrial markers. I have found this pen to be easier to use (does not dry out), and the marks to be more or less permanent, certainly they have not faded in bright light (on plant tissue culture glassware) with longer term culture. The only down side to this marker is that you get VERY BROAD marks requiring you to write LARGE glyphs. I would love this marker if it came in a "finer" version.

These are the best markers you can get that write on any surface so if you want to sell a car you can write on your windows and the rain, snow, heat, and cold wont affect it unless the snow covers your window. If you need to make on wood doing construction work this will work for you too.

Although i think the packaging is kind of wasteful and the marker it self has a barcode on it they should just sell them as is without packaging.

Great product and will keep buying!

Color: Red Verified Purchase
I bought the red marker to use on wood. The red on the cap did not match what came out on the wood, so that is why I'm taking a star away from this review. For my purposes the shade of red was slightly important. The red was more a shade of red closer to pink. I'm attaching a photo of a wood disc, with the red from this product next to a red church / city wood token. As can be seen, there is a difference between what I wanted and the red from this marker.

Using the product is easy. It smears on, and it does dry quickly; the marker states it dries in 5 - 7 minutes. I do like the ease of using the marker. If I needed more markers, I would consider this brand again. Cleaning it off my hands was easy; it came off using hot water and soap with a little scrubbing / scraping. If I were using it on a bigger project I doubt I'd have to do the clean up since I don't think it would have gotten on my hands. Despite the shade not being what I expected, I would recommend this product.

Edit:

With a second application to the item and over some time, it got closer to the red I expected.

Color: Red Verified Purchase
For coloring the letters on firearms, RED does not work or look as good as the WHITE. Seems to smear more than the WHITE, and color is more PINK than RED on silver/stainless firearms. The color appears more RED when applied to Black firearms though. It's cheap and is easy to clean up with rubbing alcohol. Although I would recommend getting the "Slim" version for firearm use, just to make it a bit easier.
