My dog FREAKS out over thunderstorms, and living in Iowa- we get a lot of spring and summer storms. She shakes, pants, digs, climbs on my bed- and there is no calming her down. She shakes so hard that I worry she will have a heart attack. We have literally tried EVERYTHING! From the thunder shirt to all the drugs from the vet to melatonin... everything. Then late one night I was up with her during a storm (she doesn't let me sleep when she is freaking out) and I was looking up more remedies. I came across Rescue Remedy and ordered it, expecting it to be another failed attempt but worth a shot. I can not explain the joy I felt when it worked! It works fast, and keeps her calm but still alert. (Some things the vet gave up literally made her knock out and act drugged for a good 24 hours).
The awesome thing about this, is that since it calms her down but keeps her "alert" she has begun to build up an immunity to storms. She used to freak out at the smallest thunder (sometimes not even audible to me yet, being so far away)....now she is fine with mild thunderstorms and often sleeps right through them without any Rescue Remedy.
This morning as a thunderstorm started she woke me up, I gave her some RR and she went back to sleep... it is still thundering and she is off somewhere sleeping.
The bottle seems small at first but our first bottle has lasted 3-4 months and we just order 3 more bottles to prepare for spring/summer storms.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! So glad I finally found something that works!!!!!!!

I hate writing reviews but felt compelled because your reviews help me and this product worked well for us. I did not purchase this on Amazon because quite frankly I was desperate. I bought it at a local store....way overpriced....but I wanted to start ASAP. We recently rescued a very fearful dog about 6 weeks ago. She was fearful of EVERYTHING. I mean everything. Through love, care, and training, she has made huge strides. However, she still an extremely skittish dog. We have tried so many things at this point: Shen Calmer, Theanine, Green Dog Calmer, and combinations thereof. They have all helped to a degree. We love the Shen Calmer but it does have some side effects like diarrhea which is normal for Chinese herbs. My vet recently recommended we try Rescue Remedy. He is a Holistic vet within a regular practice. He said the worst case he has ever seen in his entire years of practicing was resolved after using Rescue Remedy for a short time. Although Amazon is much cheaper, I did not want to wait. I went to our local specialty pet and purchased the 10ml bottle for $20!!! Ugh! Anyway, it works beautifully. A few words of advice from our vet to have it work. First, you must SHAKE the bottle each time to activate a homepathic extract. Second, do NOT use the rescue remedy in their food or water. Apply the drops to the underside of the EARS or top of their head and rub in. It will get into their bloodstream better. We use the ears because the fur gets in the way on the head. Third, Rescue Remedy is a combination of only 5 remedies. Not all of those are what our dog specifically needs. In fact, only 2 of them appear to be what our dog needs. But I wanted to start somewhere quickly so I bought it. I went to Bach website. They have a number of remedies for pets.Read more ›

Purchased on the recomendation of our vet to deal with aggression problems with one of our cats. This was a "fraidy cat" to begin with and when we adopted a dog he was very nervous around the dog. For some reason he took out his frustrations on his "brother" cat who he grew up with!! We started using Rescue Remedy Pet to try to calm this aggressive behaviour. Much to our surprize it helped more with his fear of the dog than anything else! A huge improvement there, and some improvement with the aggression as well. Although not a perfect result, this has been a good improvement in household peace. As a side note, we put 2 or 3 drops of this product directly into the cat's mouth daily which is NOT how it supposed to be given. We want to be sure that HE is the cat actually getting the product. This has worked for us and our kitty doesn't seem to mind at all. We have used it for about four months.

I don't write many reviews, but have to share the positive results!

I adopted a kitten about 8 months ago. He is part Ragdoll (known to be laid back and sweet) and part Main Coon (known as the Gentle Giant)...so, I figured he would be a pretty easy going cat. Umh...Wrong!

From the time I adopted him, at 2 mos. old, he would always bite my hands when I tried picking him up and he would chew away at his bedding and blankets. I did my research and it seemed that he might be teething early, thus the reason for biting/chewing anything in his site. So, I had no problem with mother nature, as it would only be temporary.

Well, after a few more months of this behavior and visits and talks with his Vet., they recommended that I firmly tell him NO, whenever he tried to bite me or continue chewing the heck out of everything in sight. I have had many cats in the past, which lived long lives; but none ever behaved as this one...so, he has been a challenge. His biting behavior was a true challenge of my patience. My household is very zen and he was beginning to create a not so zen home-life for me...especially since he is now much larger and his teeth are no longer the little harmless kitten size teeth!

After more research and deciding to take a more natural approach, rather than harmful meds that a Vet had recommended for calming; I decided to give "Bach Pet Rescue" a try. I made certain that this didn't contain alcohol, as some of their other remedies can contain alcohol. I found it on Amazon and placed my order. Once it arrived, I quickly added the recommended four drops of the Bach to his water bowl and noticed that he drank it normally...so, it was good to note that he wasn't going to refuse drinking his water.Read more ›
