I looked at a lot of the reviews here before buying, and folks who didn't like it rated it low because of its size. Other people did like it, and it fit everything they needed, but no one was very clear about how big it actually was. I love it, but I can see why the "too small" folks didn't. So here's *exactly* how big it is:

Overall:
2.75" front to back, including the latch (which sticks out in front) and the hinge
3" side to side
.8125" (13/16") thick

Each little compartment:
1" long
.625" (5/8") wide
.5" deep

A single compartment easily holds 8 ipuprofen caplets, so if you take a lot of smaller pills, this could hold a day's supply per spot.

A single compartment can't hold more than one "horse pill" sized antibiotic or adult chewable vitamin—but it will hold a bunch of other, smaller pills around that vitamin.

There's not a lot of leftover room in the case. One prescription-pad sized piece of paper folded in quarters fits between the plastic lids and the inside of the cover; six thicknesses of paper made the lid hard to close.

If you need to carry a bunch of smaller pills daily, or you are stocking a small first aid kit with a variety of small, over-the-counter medications, this is a great pillbox. It won't overwhelm the rest of the kit, it's so sturdy you don't have to worry about the contents being crushed, and the individual lids secure the other seven compartments when you have one open. Having a mirror inside is a nice feature.

The case does collect fingerprints and small scratches, but in a year, I'll think of that as patina. Doesn't bother me. No durability issues at the two-week point.

I purchased this because I kept forgetting to take my medication but also wanted something that doesn’t look like something my grandmother would own. Don’t get me wrong, I love my grandmother, but anything that makes seem similar to her in a medical sense is distressing, but I digress.

The product has 8 pill holders (all labeled) which easily hold my medications (which are small). I would estimate each compartments capacity at roughly 8 regular Advil so there is sufficient room.

I will say that the product does get smudges on it easily however this is a non-concern to me because I am really not trying to impress anyone with my pill storing habits.

Strongly recommend.

This is a well-made pill case, but it is pretty small. I would suggest only getting this if you do not have more than 1-2 of the larger sized pills to take, otherwise the top will not close. The metal case is well made. This will not end up being my daily pill box, but more for short trips.

It is easy to find a cheap-looking, all-translucent-plastic, 7 or 8 compartment pill box with a snap-shut lid for each compartment.
The problem is: that is not durable, and it looks cheap, and it exposes pills to the light.

It is also easy to find a nice-looking metal pill box, with varying numbers of open sections with no individual compartment lids.
The problem is: that makes it difficult to get one pill, or one day's pills, out of a single particular compartment... without accidentally dumping nearly all the pills in the box into your hand or worse... onto the floor.

This is the only traveler's pill box I have found that offers both of these features in the same product:
You get a strong, durable, protective (from impact and from light) metal outer shell...
and inside you get 8 compartments with 8 individual separate lids ... one lid for each compartment.

The compartments are EACH big enough to hold one moderately large daily multivitamin, plus at least three more standard capsule-sized pills, for a total of four... and perhaps five... daily pills. If your pills are all quite small, it could even hold 8 to 10
in each compartment.... or if all your pills are medium-sized pills, probably 5 to 6 in each compartment.

I like it so much, as soon as I received it, I immediately bought a second one for my wife.
