My male cat (1 year old) LOVES this toy. He has two other Skinneeez birds, a duck and a flamingo, as well as a rabbit and a skunk and he is crazy about all of them. They are very lightweight because the bodies don't have stuffing in them, so they are perfect for carrying around. I don't know if it's the braided legs, the catnip inside, or the general style of these toys, but my cat is crazy for them. He plays with them constantly and they've held up very well to his abuse. I will definitely buy more of these.

What you're ordering here:

This particular product page is for ONE Skinneeez chicken toy, not 3. Ya can't rely only on the image; Amazon can be tricky like that.

Also, the product dimensions listed include the retail packaging--the paper card the toy is attached to. The chicken itself is teeny! About 2x3, maybe just barely.

Finally, it is catnip filled, supposedly, but don't expect your cat to respond to it like many other catnip toys by brands like Yeowww or FatCat. If you're purchasing this thinking you'll get a super potent catnip toy, well, nope. This should probably be marketed only as a plush toy.

I happen to have a very toy-crazy cat, one of these types that will play with just about anything I offer him. (And frequently with things I do not). As kitties are known to be discriminating, I find it difficult to write reviews for cat toys because what my cat may love, your cat dismisses with scorn. That said...

IF your cat enjoys small, not over stuffed plushy toys, this is a real winner. We had a few of these Skinneeez toys in the teaser form ("Ethical Skinneeez Forest Friends Cat Wand" sold here on Amazon) when my guy was a kitten and they were a huge hit! I think his little brain was imprinted with a love of this style/brand of toy. Frankly, we still prefer them in wand form. But my arm isn't titanium so if I'm lazy, just tossing this across the room does the trick.

They're well made and though the legs are a thin soft rope material, unless you have a real Jaws on your hands, they aren't easily shredded. As mentioned above, I suspect they have only trace amounts of catnip and even the most potent catnip toy can go stale.Read more ›

My cats love this. It it is great quality and has never leaked or tore :)

We call it "Mr Chicken." My cats will run around and somersault with him. Now that the catnip has worn out they look at him with fond memories and occasionally paw at him when they pass by.

Not sure what ruler they used to get 6"x4". The one we received is 4"x2" and is really cheaply made. Definitely not worth the almost 6bucks they charged for it. Smells like chemicals too, not catnip. Cats were not interested in it at all. what a waste of money.

Through a lot of trial and error, I learned that my cats really prefer toys with minimal/no stuffing. They're also more drawn to natural colors versus bright ones, probably because they more closely resemble prey in nature. My cats love the Skinneeez toys, especially the chipmunk, squirrel, chicken, and duck. The toys are small and flat enough for them to easily carry in their mouth or bat around. The "fur" doesn't shed easily after many sessions of chewing and rough play. I've also thrown these in the washer and dryer without any issues.

It's a flat piece of 3 inch fabric that looks like a chicken. My cat just stared at it. It's a cute design and a good concept (no catnip) but I think it needs a little bit of filler to make it easier to flip and play with. My feline definitely was not a fan. Sorry!

My cat LOVES these and carries them around everywhere, everyday…for more than a year now. I find them in various places around the house.

Please, however, do NOT buy them or anything else from "Companion Caterers" - their listing stated that they provided a combined shipping refund if you bought more than one. Not only did they not provide the refund but they ignored two emails. Furthermore, they have an "F" rating on the Better Business Bureau website. Companion Caterers web site says they have a BBB membership, however, the BBB says Companion Caterers do NOT have a BBB membership!!!
