Ever since I discovered fountain pens, I have had a lough for quality writing instruments. I really liked the red color of this pencil (blue looks great too), and the design of the grip when I looked at it online. With the very positive reviews I was sure I had to add it to my collection.

The pencil does look awesome, and that is why it get's two stars instead of one. I was excited to see how it works and found myself greatly disappointed. The first huge drawback is the inside tube of the pencils rattles when you hold it in an incredibly unsatisfying way that is clearly indicative of low quality. The grip is metal and has a very nice feel to it, but the back end of the pencil is a really cheap plastic that throws of the balance and makes the pencil somewhat awkward to hold.

The cap on the end does stay on the pencil however it freely rotates which I've never seen on another pencil, for good reason. The pocket clipper is pretty nice and fits well with the rest of the pencil. The biggest problem with the the pencil though, is the completely unsatisfying click for more lead. The back of the pencil just completely gives and has no resistance.

The pencil is better than other extremely low cost options, but feels like it should cost about half of what it does. There are way better options in this price range. The Uni Kuru Toga, which I consider *okay*, costs less and is far better than this pencil. My best recommendation for a pencil in this price-range is the Pentel GraphGear 1000, which is absolutely fantastic.

Overall, a decent mechanical pencil. My only gripe is that the materials could be a little heartier. Interior looks good, but exterior on plastic pieces could use a little more refinement.

The metal, protective sleeve at the tip is a little long for my taste - can poke holes in pockets.

Writes well. I have even done some drawing with it and it does well at that task. Put good quality graphite / lead in it and I have not had any breaks.

The locking mechanism that locks out the shake method of advancing the lead seems a little bit of a gimmick, but overall, I do like the pencil.

It has the perfect weight, for a mechanical pencil fanatic, this is a great buy. Being a math person, I always look and collect great mechanical pencils, and this one is near the top.. I highly recommend it.

Feels good, looks good, works great. I like the ability to both "shake" the pencil to bring down the lead as well as the ability to "click" the lead into place. I use this with red lead.... which unfortunately is a little too brittle....but that's not the pencil's fault.

Nice pencils, I buy a new one every couple of months because I use mine everyday, all day. I work a lot and so do my pencils, these are are all I buy. I have tried some of the other ones, in this price range, these are where it's at!!!

I like that the pencil looks so professional. Very smooth lead advancement. I don't like to use the eraser ,because the smooth function causes the lead to advance. I use the shake advancement quite frequently.

I love this pencil! First let me say the price is great for what you're getting. It comes with 2 sticks of lead that suck but you are paying for a pencil, not lead. It came a week befor expected and arrived safely. Nice feel, not a huge fan of the plastic body but the grip is right on! Highly Recommend Pencil.
