This model ships without instructions, so at first I thought the device only worked with N, D, T, and R batteries. There is a door in the device you must flip up if you want to use this with the G battery.

I purchased this to charge my battery outside the camera (DSC-HX9V).

It's a bit larger than I would like for portability, but at least the prongs fold in.

It doesn't take more than one receptacle in the wall outlet since the prongs are offset to the top and are not polarized.

I would love it if they put a USB port on the side so I can charge the camera battery and the spare battery at the same time.

This is a good value. I received mine in a sealed display package, so I know it's genuine Sony product.

Made in China, but has the feel of Japan quality.

I don't normally have to return items due to it not performing as advertised, but this charger never worked. Out of the box it felt cheaply made and unlike my previous Sony purchases. After leaving my NP-BD1 Type D battery in the unit "charging" over a full weekend, I unplugged it Monday morning to find the battery was still dead. Utterly frustrated, I have returned it to Amazon.

I HATE the fact that you have to plug the camera it self into a compute only to charge it. even more so when I have a weatherproof camera that I saved and splurged on and if anything happens to any doors on it I loose the water tight seal and basically loose the major addition to it and having it sitting somewhere with it's door open I was terrified of something hitting it and knocking the door clean off. And I can't use the camera while it is charging so when I got an extra battery it was simply a pain in the ass when both died, or one since I either charged and took no more pictures or took a few more pictures and had to wait for both.

This thing is was a godsend and a GREAT price compared to in stores which I honestly did not want to pay. At the time I got it it was 15$ rather than 65$ at Best Buy who only had it. It's small, compact and I take it with me whenever I take my camera. It charges in little time at all and of course there is the light that lets you know when it's done charging. I have the factory battery and a knockoff from a seller here Neewer. They pop right in and that's that. There is a tab that you flip depending on your battery size, and seems a bit flimsy but it holds and keeps the battery in place as long as you don't knock them around. I have got constant hours taking pictures and continually switching batteries back and forth by the time I finish the other had been done charging, I can plug it in and continue on my way.

I keep losing my chargers. This last time was due to moving to a new house. I use mine for the N size battery and never had an issue with either 2 of the ones I have purchased. I have not timed how long it takes, but since I lost the original I really can't compare.

Both times I have ordered it, it has been a little over $20. A great price and affordable to replace.
