This case is no different from any other brief case. I expected a "notebook case" to be just that - something that would be more than a carrier of paper. A true notebook case should afford extra padding/cushioning in order to protect the notebook/laptop from bumps and shock. This case does none of that! It should be renamed as a simple briefcase. To do otherwise is misleading! I do NOT recommend this product for anyone who's seeking protection for a laptop or notebook!!! Look elsewhere, even if it means spending a few more dollars. I purchased this because it has beene xtremely difficult to find an 18 inch laptop case. I'm still looking for an 18 inch LAPTOP case!!!

Great bag, I've had it for a couple months. Wide enough for my Dell M6600 to fit in nicely. Elegant, sleek looking design and not bulky. Sufficient but not an over abundance of storage, but fits my needs for a lightweight case. 1 of the 2 front pockets has several different size pockets inside it to organize items and is easily accessible. The other is just storage. The slimline 240w ac adapter takes up the entire front outside pocket but again I didn't want a bulky case. Hardware (zippers and clasps) seem very well made and durable. Very happy with it so far.

I originally ordered the "Case Logic PNC-218 18-Inch Laptop Case" and I was satisfied but not overjoyed for the $30 I paid. Fortunately amazon had free returns and I bought this bag for the extra $5. I am so happy I did. Not only does this bag feel very rugged and well made, it looks phenomenal with leather in the places where it's needed.

This was purchased for my 17.6" Asus G750JX. It fits the laptop, the charger, a 10ft hdmi cable, a gaming mouse with the charger, portable headphones, as well as roughly 2 t-shirts. It's ridiculous how much it can carry when pushed to the limits. But when all you have is you laptop and charger, it remains roughly the same size and feels great in the hands.

If you are like me and want quality products to entrust you $1700 machine to, BUY THIS. It also looks great,at first glace it looks like I spent over $80 on it. By the way it is sufficiently padded- not as much as some folks want, but I trust it more than enough.

Also I wouldn't use this as a messenger bag personally as with all my gear it weights over 15lbs (My laptop is a concrete slab.) and the strap doesn't have sufficient padding. If you will be carrying around 11lbs, the bag will function just fine as a messenger bag though.

I really like my Kenneth Cole Portfolio Case! It was somewhat difficult for me to find a computer case that would fit my giant laptop. I searched around for a while until I came across this 18.4 Inch Top Zip. After reading all the reviews I was a little put off by one comment stating that the padding along the bottom of the case wasn't sufficient. After reading this particular review again it seemed more like this person was just having a bad day and wanted to vent, so I went ahead and bought it anyway. The first thing I did when I got my Kenneth Cole Reaction in the mail was check the padding and found a good 2-3 inches of padding along the bottom of the portfolio. This portfolio provides a sleek modern style with the comfort of knowing your valuables will be well protected!

After just a week or 2 of use, the "Kenneth Cole" metal logo came off. i tried to superglue it back and it didn't work. in the package, there was a 1800 number to call for kenneth cole repairs, but apparently, they don't cover their brand tags from falling off. it's a great bag, but the company that kenneth cole contracts out to fix their bags suck. they are terse, quick and brush you off. i wish i had time to write this review earlier in hindsight because maybe with amazon.com's EXCELLENT customer service, i could have just returned the bag and got a different one, instead of going through this 3rd party repair place.

I was looking for a large bag to fit my 17 inch Asus G74SX laptop. Others I had considered weren't thick or wide enough to handle this beast. The Reaction case is large enough to fit the laptop, power brick, and a mouse along with a couple other small items. The padding is good, even on the bottom, and the handle and carry strap are sturdy. The only thing that would make it better would be swivels on the carry strap.

The leathery exterior is visibly non-leather, so it doesn't look as fancy as it does in the pictures. The shoulder strip isn't on pivots, so it gets twisted all the time. The side pockets lack depth and twist out of shape, so it's hard to carry any papers and even the power brick barely fits into the side pocket.

And critically, it has almost no padding on the bottom. What is it with laptop cases? They always pad the sides, but that's not where the impact happens. After wincing at the "clunk" the first time I set this case down on a tile floor, I taped a strip of foam padding into the bottom, so that problem is solved.

There was room to tape in extra padding even for my huge laptop, because that center compartment is big. Really big. And the price wasn't too bad. After a month the zippers appear to be holding up.
