Upon opening this set, it brought over an hour of imaginative playtime. The set is just as you see it in the box. The eggs do not come off the plate (thought I'd share in case someone questioned). The bunny cakes, we call pancakes, are separate, so the one shown in the griddle is able to be plated. Although critters and dolls alike are being served the breakfast items, I find it very cute to also see 'restaurant' played out directly with others (of human kind)...So no critters or dolls needed; simply a child's imagination. We love the details and 'real' quality found in tiny form here.

Simply awesome!! The waffle maker that actually opens up is a huge hit with my 3 year-old. She really enjoys serving her Calico Critters this food. Warning for parents with kids who still put things in their mouths: the pieces are EXTREMELY TINY. Adult supervision is definitely necessary.

I was originally concerned about the quality of this manufacturer vs the Calico Critters brand but the quality was equal.
