I'm tired of my low flow toilets that don't empty the tank but instead just use the weight of all the water in the tank while only releasing 25% of it.

Yep, low flow toilets have been mandated by the govment for years. And they make 'em plenty strong enough to flush 12 golf balls. But the little bit of water that gets released goes straight down the drain to create the flush. This action does nothing to clean the "skid marks" from around the bowl.

Water saving toilets are designed to give maximum flush with minimal water. Great idea, in theory. And sure everything goes down the drain, but at the expense of the bowl not getting "cleaned". And that is because the OEM flappers have a hole in the sidewall. That hole allows air to escape at a set rate that then makes the flapper close (or sink) before all the water is out of the tank. So you get the full "force" of the weight of a full tank, but nowhere close to the volume.

Install one of these and set the hole-closing dial to anywhere you like. For those that love the planet and wanna save even more water you can make it close even faster. For those of us that need everything the toilet can do to remove any evidence we were just there, you can make it stay open and empty the tank into the bowl if you want. But don't tell anyone or the poo poo police will come calling. lol

I purchased this product to replace the original flapper on my Eljer 141-0777 toilet, and it works like a charm. I was familiar with the Korky brand as being well designed and made with high quality materials. This model continues that tradition. I especially like the stainless steel chain which I found to be easy to install. The flapper itself simply clips onto the posts located on the overflow standpipe. Is working fine so far.

Worked in my Kohler tank, but not as adjustable as I'd like. The lowest setting still drops the plunger pretty quickly. What would help is having an inline float like a lot of other flappers offer. I get that the point is not to need that, but I'd rather flush once a little less efficiently than four times at 3 ounces of water each.

It does seal very well, though, and flipping the ears to fit on the flush stem is easy and simple.

This finally fixed the hard-to-find flapper issue with my low flow Elger TITAN 1.6 GPF toilet purchased in 2007 (tank # 141-0777) after seeing the high ratings in Consumer Reports. This universal and adjustable flapper snapped right in but I discovered that it closed too quickly for what I deemed to be an adequate flush using the recommended setting of "1" for the TITAN (adjustable from 1-8). I adjusted the setting to "7" and it allowed a much better flush. Curious, I tried the max setting of "8" and have decided to leave it at that setting which allows more time for the flapper to close and therefore more water in the flush. I doubt if it can still claim 1.6GPF at this setting, but at least I am getting clean flushes and can hopefully avoid having to call a plumber to roto-rooter the sewer line like I did about a year ago. Definitely would buy again.

I love my Toto Drake II toilet, but after about a year or so I heard weird noises that drove me crazy - turned out it the flappers were leaking water causing the toilet to sometimes fill up slowly making the water pipes scream. Finally had enough and ordered two of these - so far so good. Turned off water supply for 8 hours and water level in tank held steady. Time will tell how long these guys will hold their seals.

The one piece rubber design of this, which i originally thought would be best, does not hold up to it's 5 year marked time. This mistake makes me feel terrible. i replaced this with an old unit in a neighbors home for her and it fixed the problem she was having, I was over one day mowing her lawn about a year and half later and she was telling me that her water bill was getting higher and condemning the city for doing that to her, mine had raised as well so I thought nothing of it and aggregated that it was getting ridiculous. She is an elderly woman and lives alone since her husband passed away years ago. well about another year later I was over at her house fixing an electrical outlet and I heard a noise, repetitive, about every 5 minutes a constant sound that would last approx 45 seconds. it never stopped, just kept doing it sound sounded familiar to me. before I left i went to check that toilet and that flapper was not sealing, closest to the post it was leaking, there were no gouges in it, no marks, it looks brand spanking new actually. Seems to me that the part of this that I thought would be ideal ( The hung section of rubber) stiffens slightly rather than gets loose like ya might think. so the back half of that flapper was raised up slightly! I tested my theory by holding it down slightly, I could find nothing wrong with the seat seal. so I ran over to the house and got a fluidmaster one, the fluid master has a plastic hinge that connects to the rubber flapper stopper top. the only way this designs can fail is if the rubber actually tears or falls apart.

The hinge on the cork COULD end up costing you hundreds of dollars is what i am getting at, for just a few dollars more you get a great set up that will not leak.Read more ›
