My field partner and I work in a botanical garden in South Florida where we collect data on cycads and palms from around the world. We often look as if we've been in a fight with a bobcat due to the number of spines and thorns we encounter regularly. I ordered us each a pair of these, and so far these gloves have successfully protected us from the usual shredding without overheating our hands. They offer nice, thick, soft protection in the wrist, palm, and fingertips while still allowing us to maintain dexterity. It remains to be seen how they'll hold up to the heat and humidity. The sizing is also surprisingly small. I'm usually a women's medium, but these are a bit short in the fingers, but that also means they fit my small-handed partner perfectly, for whom it is difficult to find gloves. So far, love 'em.

Recently moved to an area with rampant poison ivy. From experience, I knew I had to have the long-almost-to-my-elbows garden gloves to work in the flower garden around the poison ivy. Couldn't find any in the local garden stores and no one seemed to even know what "rose gloves" were.
So I checked with Amazon and found exactly what I needed with the Magid Professional Rose Gardening gloves. They arrived in the 2 days stated and are just perfect in keeping the poison ivy off my arms!!

We have a lovely garden and we would like to keep it that way. Unfortunately, it is filled with prickly bushes and with growing things of all sorts to which, it turns out, I am allergic. So before I got these gloves, a turn in the garden was followed in short order by many creams and then a week of anxious glances at my arms--this following a single instance when I did not put the cream on. So you can imagine how great a relief these gloves were! They come up just past my elbow and they are nice and sturdy. I've had them for months now and they are still going strong despite all the abuse they've endured. And unlike the other gloves I had before, they are well-fitting and I can feel what it is I am doing. They are well-made, have a suede-like feel and the stitching is quite good.

As others have noted, your hands do get a little hot in them. But to me that's a small price to pay for the many benefits.
I highly recommend them.

Before I got these Rose Gardening Gloves, I recently did a lot of tree and rose-bush trimming, without gloves, and kept scraping my arms and getting stuck by rosebush thorns. I researched the reviews and then ordered these. This week I tried them out with some heavy-duty yard work. They were exactly what I wanted. I'm sure I could still get pricked occasionally if I get careless, but common sense tells me not to depend on any rose gardening gloves completely. My hands and arms are free of cuts and scrapes! It was easy for me to work with them on. I have small hands and even though these were a little big for me, they worked fine. I was even able to dial in my numbers on the garage opener keypad, so they aren't too cumbersome. Okay, I did have to dial it in twice before I got it to work, but I didn't have to take my gloves off. I'm very happy with them. They weren't too hot for me, even in 100-degree weather. Of course I didn't stay out there for long periods of time when it was that hot either. I would buy these again if they wear out.

Although these gloves were called rose gardening gloves on the Amazon website I use them for trimming cactus and bouganvilla. They are excellent...strong protective and easy to clean.
They were priced well..I don't care about the color (it's fine) and they arrived in a day or 2 with normal delivery. Gardener.

Comfortable and prevents scratches from thorns. Wish they were more durable, I need to take them off for weeding. However, if they were more durable, they probably wouldn't be as comfortable. Definitely would buy these again.

I got pricked and scratched using these gloves. I had to deal with my roses like I had no gloves on because these gloves DO NOT protect against thorns. I bought them because of all the positives reviews I read. I am glad they seem to work great for everybody. I am returning mine back to Amazon tomorrow.
I bought a really great pair at Lowes that truly worked. I brought a rose to Lowes and tried on their gloves and reluctantly grabbed a hold of the branch thinking I am going to get pricked and nothing! I didn't feel a thing. I am so happy to finally have a great pair of gloves that indeed protect.
