Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Good:
The 3 serving spoons and 3 serving forks that came in my package are good sized; large enough to pick up spoonfuls of casserole or tossed salad.
They're strong. I used the spoons to dish up homemade baked beans, and these held up well, even against the "sticky bits" on the side of the pan.
They hand washed okay. (But I wondered about the durability of the "silver finish" if I'd had to scrub harder.)

The Bad:
They are disposable OR reusable, but, if you're going to wash plastic, why bother? Just use regular serving pieces, and be a little more "green."
They don't really look like silver, but they DO look like shiny colored plastic.

The Ugly:
Even before opening the package, I saw areas on both the spoons and forks where the "silver" coating had either rubbed off, or hadn't been properly applied in the first place. This left black "splotches" on the utensils. Unsightly.

I give them three stars (see: The Good, above), but can't say I'd run out to purchase another set.

I suppose if you have a big party and you just can't face a big cleanup after, these might be what you're looking for.

And no, it's not a question I am able to answer, but ASK. I received these throug the Vine program to try & evaluate. I wasn't at all sure what to expect. They arrived and I saw they were plastic and searched everywhere for a label warning me they were from China, but couldn't find one. My wife finally did underneath an Amazon sticker. These ARE MADE IN CHINA. I also noted several areas on these items that have fairly substantial "pits" in the plastic, where the fake chrome paint (or whatever it is) never stuck. This gives me 2 red flags.
1- Made in China
2- What chemicals am I being exposed to from the black pitted areas that are now mixing into my food?

Given ALL items from China's abysmal safety record and lack of concern for product safety, I only used these one time to toss a salad with NO dressing. Did this to probe the obvious, that you CAN toss a salad and live up to my obligation to Amazon to try these. But then, we thoroughly rinsed the salad with fresh water and used our WOOD implements which are much nicer, SAFE for sure, and cheaper while made in the USA to boot. Maybe I am neurotic, but when I see black spots on this fake serving fork & spoon and ask myself, what were these plated with, and why is the plating defective, and then that magic question of "will this be a dangerous meal to eat"? Well, I tossed this Mozaik Serving Utensil Set ( and I mean tossed it into my TRASH!) as I am just too afraid to even risk potential health hazards. I only give this a 2 star rating as I have no way to prove they are dangerous in any way, but also, see no point to buying these? Why buy plastic "stuff" from China this expensive when much better items are available made from reputable Countries and out of wood etc and CHEAPER?

Here's something I was delighted to find on sale at my nearby grocery store. It's a set of plastic Mozaik serving utensils (three forks, three spoons). They're just the right size for our needs. They're made of plastic and have a shiny metallic sheen and look fairly good. These are things we'll only use a few times a year so getting a cheap set like this is perfect. Plus, they actually look good. They seem to be quite sturdy and I'm sure they'll hold up well in their limited service. It was a good find. I had no idea you could find good looking plastic stuff like this.

This is a set of six serving utensils, three forks and three spoons. They are silver in color and do look like real serving utensils. The shape and size work well for serving food and they make a nice impression.

They are plastic however, and made in China. Mine had the chrome worn off the plastic in several places upon arrival, showing black plastic underneath. This didn't attract from their overall appearance, but it made me nervous about eating off of them, or using them too many times.

$3.99 is reasonable price if you are looking for something disposable that will look nice on the table, perhaps at a picnic, potluck, or family event where you don't want to forget your good spoons. But the plastic makes me leary and I'd only use these as a back-up if it wasn't feasible to have real utensils on hand.

I want to be fancy and admired by friends and frenemies, so I ordered these spoons for a pot luck. Nobody knew they were plastic, except those of us serving! They look great. I think some of the negative reviews here are from people who thought they were getting silverware, can't you people read? Nobody's getting sterling for cheap ya goof!

You know that weird feeling on your teeth you get when you bite down on metal? These spoons have that. Give it a try, and then tell me why that happens if you're a scientist.

These have not exactly passed the dishwasher test at the lower tray. I see discoloration on the utensils. I don't think they are unsafe, but if you pay more than twenty dollars, you'd expect greater durability. Non-plastic version of these could run up to over fifty dollars, but with a product like WMF Bistro Serving Spoon why not pay a few more bucks for the real thing and let it last a long time.
