Sterling Silver History
Experts believe that silver alloy, used today as sterling silver, originated in continental Europe in the 12th century. Pure silver was found to be a soft and easily damageable material. I love these earrings! They are very comfortable to wear, not heavy at all and a perfect size for me. I measured them at 7/8 of an inch in diameter. I'm adding a photo so you can easily see how big they look when worn on a woman's ear.
They are very versatile and can be worn with casual, business, or even dressy clothes. I get lots of compliments on them and the filigree design is beautiful! The clasp is delicate so you have to be careful taking the earrings off and putting them on. I wear mine quite often and haven't had any problem with breakage though.
They are .925 Sterling Silver, meaning they are 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper which is a good combo for durability while keeping the silver sparkly.
They also go very nicely with the Sterling Silver Filigree Cuff Bracelet, 7.25" that I purchased at the same time.
