Our contractor told me these were too thick for our low-profile, see-saw switches.

My wife, meanwhile, had already put polyurethane on the ones I installed, darkening them slightly so they matched our new cabinets perfectly.

She and I agree that the thicker plates are good for different reasons. She likes the look. I like that the switches are protected from hall traffic.

For those of you looking to upgrade the look of your switch and electrical outlets plates,
this is a very good product. Either mount as it is or a nice thin coating of a clear seal or light stain.

The grain pops out and accents any room.

For the good eye.. a nice buy.
