My mom turned me on to LesToil decades ago for taking out stains in clothing. It's the best and can be used even after they have been through the dryer once. I have never seen a laundry stain remover work as well. Just dab it on the stain, rub it in a while, wait thirty seconds, and throw it in the normal laundry. And I have never yet seen it ruin colors. Sometimes it takes a couple of washings, but it's the best.
One caution. It eventually eats through the plastic bottle it comes in, so pour it in a glass bottle for long-term storage.

I had a pair of khakis that had a large black line on them and everything I tried to get the stain out did not work--until Lestoil! I had just about given up on ever getting the stain out of my khakis until my MIL told me about Lestoil. Using Lestoil and a toothbrush, the stain came out without ruining my pants! It smells a little bit like Pinesol, but the scent will wash out of clothing. One word of caution, this stuff will eat through the plastic bottle over time. This problem is easily solved by storing in a glass container. I don't know why local stores stopped carrying it, but I am very glad that Amazon does!

I have used Lestoil for many, many years to clean almost anything greasy, oily, etc, I used it to spot clean grease stains from splattered cooking oils on clothing, automotive grease, etc. by applying it to the stain and letting soak until the next wash load. Sometimes 10 or 15 minutes would do it. It was also very good at cleaning paint brushes used with oil base paint. No other cleaner that I have used removed the greasy stains like Lestoil. I tried Pine-Sol, Mr. Clean, etc. but nothing worked as well as Lestoil. I noticed that most of the reviews here posted pre-2015 seem to have negative comments on the smell of the product. The ingredient causing the smell was the ingredient that made it a terrific cleaner for the greasy stains. About a year ago I noticed the smell of the product changed and its cleaning performance also changed. I would need to spot clean and wash a piece of greasy clothing more than once to get the stain out and sometimes it didn't work at all. I called the 800 number on the bottle and my suspicions were confirmed. Because of the V.O.C. restrictions of our government the ingredients in the product had to be changed to reduce or eliminate V.O.C.s. Now Lestoil is no better than all the other cleaners out there. It is very good at cleaning dirt as all the others are but it can no longer handle greasy stains. All I can say is Yes it is safer to use but is no longer the best product for the greasy stains. I'm still searching for a replacement. By the way, these same V.O.C. restrictions in paints is why the paint you use today doesn't have a heavy odor but is also not as good as paint bought in the past. Safety, safety, safety.

This is one of the best all around cleaners from paint removal, grease and oil stains, crayon residue, lipstick, to using it on your delicates in the laundry. The only thing I have found after using this product for over 50 years is it won't remove rust stains. Live in Nevada, company owner in California and have to have it shipped to me from the East Coast, NJ, NY, CT, to get it. Shipping cost is outragous but there is nothing that cleans like this product, so you have to pay for this wonderful product.

I've used Lestoil for years, and it is the best product for all types of stains, including oil and grease. It won't damage the color either. Finding it difficult to find a store that carries it, so might have to order it from Amazon.

It's a product you don't want to be without.

The only negative I could say about Lestoil is the very strong smell of the product. Sometimes you even have to wash twice. I'm talking about clothing, here, because this is the ONE product I know that will get any stain, I've ever challenged it with out. It will even remove dried paint! It's a shame it's so hard to find in the general market place anymore. Guess it's too strong.....which is why it works!
