Disclaimer, I'm an astronomer. But I have a young child and work with kids under 5 regularly. So when I was asked to do some astronomy for kids, I crossed my fingers and hoped that these cheap binoculars would work. Sadly, they do not magnify at all. The kids like them anyway, but we had more fun making pretend binoculars out of toilet paper tubes.

Ordered these for my son's birthday party as favors. The kids (3-4 year olds) loved it because they got a set of binoculars. And yes, they are very attractively priced, but they are also very flimsy and cheaply made. These are totally a one time use/play toy.

I chose to go with the outdoor adventure, thought these binoculars are fantastic for kids. Pair them with some magnifying glass and safari hats... I promise you, the kids will love it!

generally I let the company know of issues before I post a bad review-to give them time to make up for it or compensate for it because things happen/quality control can't be 100%. unfortunately I am very late in posting this and can't contact them via amazon. We bought these 6 months ago to use at a party as favors. I had four of them in the packaging that were already broken and at least 2 did not last through the 2 hour party. Most broke at the viewing end with one or both plastic pieces coming off and a few broke at the viewing end with the 'adjuster' attached to the broken-off piece. Not worth the money and very disappointing to our little guests.

I teacher pre-k students and they love these! They use them on the playground and around the classroom. So far they have held up to several uses by little hands and not one crack in any of them!

They do not work as true accurate binoculars but do magnify somewhat (great for beginners to understand the concept) and make things smaller when you reverse them (a favorite activity!). Great for my purposes of introduction to the vocabulary and concept of binoculars!

I bought these for birthday goody bags. I've purchased similarly styled and priced binoculars before and they did magnify. These don't magnify at all. Also, about half of them were already broken, and the other half were broken by the end of the party. Not worth the money even at the ridiculously low price. I can't even recommend these for little kids who might not care about the magnification, because they're too flimsy to really be considered safe.

I was really worried about these after reading the reviews, but I decided to order them anyways. I'm really glad I did, I got them really fast and not one pair was broken. I put one in each goodie bag for all the kids that came to my son's 4th birthday party, and they all loved them. The ones I have left have seen some pretty rough play, and they still have not broken. They even magnify, like actual binoculars, though not very much, which is to be expected from binoculars such as these. Overall I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for binoculars for birthday parties or whatnot.
