I have Celiac AND I am allergic to soy, potatoes, corn and dairy. I can tell you that this is one soup that I can eat without having a reaction! Thank you for making this; it's a life saver...literally!

Yes yes yes! This soup is great! I don't know why every time I look for a gluten-free product, they have also made a whole lot of other changes, too. What I WANT is the same familiar stuff the gluten-y people get, except without gluten, okay? I haven't transformed into a whole different category of customer, with different tastebuds! Gluten Free Cafe gets that.

The noodles are the classic chicken-noodle-soup shape, and taste familiar, as though full of gluten, but not. The broth is thick without being creamy. The celery gives it a nice flavor without being all ewww celery. It definitely has a peppery punch that (for me) is very welcome. The chicken is in small chunks not huge wedges, which is my preference. It isn't 5-star chicken by any means, just the typical stuff you find in a can of Campbells, you know?

This is the classic chicken noodle soup, but without gluten, that I've been waiting for. THANK YOU!

The broth is a little too thick and heavy on the pepper. Over all, the taste is good and I like the noodles. Buying it in bulk from Amazon saves TONS of money compared to the off-the-shelf price of $4 something per can. Give it a try!

My son is allergic to wheat, oat, barley, eggs, dairy, all nuts, gluten and millet. He ate a couple bites of this and had a severe reaction. I didn't realize it was by the same manufacture (HEALTH VALLEY)that he has had problems with in the past due to the new label. Please be cautious as there is nothing listed that he is allergic to in the ingredients, but obviously there must be some type of cross contamination going on.

I can't believe I'm actually writing a review about canned soup. But this soup is so awful, It prompted me to action! I echo those reviewers who mentioned an "off' taste. Tasted like industrial strength, artificial onion powder to me. The hard chunks of chicken were also noteworthy, their texture being similar to those dehydrated little cubes of chicken you get in a ramen packet, only these are larger. I received just 2 of these reconstituted eraser heads in the full can of soup, and maybe that was a blessing. I found it humorous enough to take a photo. Like others, I couldn't finish my bowl, and threw it away.

My wife bought a couple cans of the gluten free chicken noodle soup month or so ago. She tried two bites from one can and dumped the rest. Said it was terrible. I ran across the second can on a shelf today and thought "It's chicken noodle soup. How bad can it be?" Well, it was really, really, really bad. Broth had an off taste and the chicken pieces were hard; almost like dried out but still crumbly. Very strange texture. Wouldn't give it a single star, it was that bad, but had to enter something. Would have expected much better from a Hain product.

I was looking forward to this gluten free soup because the picture looks great. It does have a starchy taste which happens when noodles are not rinsed after cooking, they are probably cooking the pasta right in with the soup from the start rather than cook and rinse first. It's hard to find any canned chicken noodle soup gluten free so this is a good start, with canned soup containing pasta starchy soft pasta is probably hard to avoid.

Particularly because rice pasta is extremely starchy I have been partially cooking pasta separately and rinsing and keep in fridge, when heating soup or broth I just add the pasta at the end a couple of minutes prior to eating and it works best. I got the idea from a restaurant serving soups as a gluten free option - they do not put pasta into the soup until just before serving to prevent mushy pasta. I will probably go back to this method for soups with noodles but will definitely try some of the other Gluten Free Cafe soups that do not contain pasta.

When you don't feel like settling for a rice soup, this chicken noodle soup does the trick. The flavor of the broth seems a little strong at first, but I found that after a few sips it was fine. The noodles are very noodlicious and not noticeably gluten-free.

However

I don't normally like to do this in a product review, but I feel I should warn future buyers that there seems to be some kind of issue with Amazon's stock of this soup. I purchased a case of this (in November 2013) and it arrived with most of the cans crushed in in multiple places. Two cans were undamaged, and the rest had smaller dents in them. Amazon was good about sending a replacement right away, but this case had a few similarly crushed cans, and only five of the whole case were undamaged.

I don't know if it's an issue on Gluten Free Cafe's end, Amazon's, or some issue with the packaging/shipping. The boxes never seem to be very banged up, but when I open them up and free the cans from the packaging (around the "case") the cans are just all damaged. It's pretty disappointing that only seven cans out of twenty-four were "definitely safe." I'm trying to see if I can salvage some of the other cans, but at least a couple that I've tried have been damaged to a point that they have lost pressure, and the location of the dents (toward the top and bottom of the cans) makes me nervous.
