The dealership tends to over torque the oil filter. This is the door buster for such a situation when I change the oil filter myself. It is short enough for tight places. I do not have to worry about the oil filter because I am not going to use it. so, this is adjustable for a lot of oil filters so gone are my troubles. I adjust the size for the oil filter on my car or truck. Good tool.

Work on boats for a living and wouldn't use any other tool. Great for getting hard to reach areas and when the filter is stuck like most are, this makes it easy. For those really tough ones, just put a pipe on the end and off it comes. Have had many other filter wrench's and got rid of all of them!
A must for every mechanics tool box

Has a good strong grip but unfortunately was still not the right tool for my very stubbornly stuck oil filter on a newly purchased used car. Tip: if it's really stuck, as in the oil filter housing just tears when you try to turn it, you are going to have to use the strongest part of the filter which is the end that screws onto the engine. I used a hacksaw blade to cut the filter can off, sharpened a steel rod, stuck it in a drain hole in the now-exposed mating plate, and bashed it with a sledgehammer until it turned. I will keep this around; I'm sure it will be useful someday to turn something a little less stuck.

These are one of the many tools you need in your box. These grip on and will not let go. If you have enough room to work, 9", these are the best. They are made in China but guess what, Vice grip, Irwin tools, Crescent, and Craftsman is all made in China now days. Shame on us. This style of pliers have not let me down for 30 years. As long as you take the time to adjust pliers, they do not damage the filter. As another reviewer stated, found at Harbor Freight for about $7. Lifetime Warranty.

I have a Toyota highlander and the oil filter is hard to install and remove. This tool gave me additional leverage to remove a stuck oil filter. Excellent design!

I just bought this product to remove a stubborn oil filter off of my boat still took some effort with a can of computer duster to break the seal but it worked where every other type of wrench failed. i mean this filter was crushed and torn beyond recognition. and it still got it off great tool i would of spent a 100 bucks on this tool if i had to it works that great.

Description is DECEPTIVE! Using terms like "Vise" and "Grip" in the descriptions makes this appear to the the "Vice Grip" tool at a fair price, instead of the Harbor Freight tool at twice the normal price. Nowhere in the description does it mention the mfr of Pittsburgh. I hate being decieved.
