I bought one of these as a gift a few years ago and was really impressed with the quality. I bought two more of these recently, one black one brown. They are a total disappointment. Both appear to be man made material, not at all the quality of the first one I purchased. If there is any actual leather, it is a very thin layer over cheap man-made material. They not only look cheap, but they feel worse. The color is off and it doesn't even feel good for fake leather. The black one has threads hanging off of several edges that are clearly man-made (there's no stitching on these). Unfortunately I didn't inspect them when I received them, 30 days elapsed and I can't return them. They're so disappointing that I don't even want to keep them as spares no matter how little I paid for them. I hate to just throw them away, but I'd be embarrassed to give them to anyone.

Original review - 1st purchase:
This is a single layer fairly thick strap of sturdy leather with a suede back. At full price of 16.99, it is a solid deal. Any lower, and it is a steal. Leather straps are a little tricky to buy online; You can't feel it or see the exact one you are purchasing, and every piece of leather is different. Most of the time with leather straps, you get the quality you pay for. This one appears to be an exception to that rule. But if you are looking for buttery soft fine Corinthian leather with gold stitching, you need to understand that you'll have to pay more. If you want one made from Wild Buffalo Leather or Free Range Mastodon Hide, you'll need to hitch a ride in the Tardis. If all you want is a solid deal on a basic leather strap that won't let you down, this is a safe bet. Oh and tight strap button holes? That's a good thing in my universe, as gravity is often as irresistible as the lure of time travel (on this Planet, anyhow).

I am 5'6" & 116 lbs. I needed a no slip strap for my SG Deluxe. I assumed the strap would be too long for me. To my surprise I only needed to adjust it to the 3rd shortest position. It is a soft comfy Leather strap. It attaches securely to my axe. Some of my other straps have " released" for no apparent reason. I will be buying more of these.

I own two of these, they're a good quality strap for a low price. The material is comfortable against your shoulder. I personally prefer these straps to more colourful ones made of synthetic cloth because they sit better. They're not easy to adjust on the go but that's no real issue. They can be a little difficult to get onto the strap button but once they're there, they'll stay pretty well. I highly recommend them, They don't slip, they don't get dirty and they look good.

When you need a no-nonsense leather strap that is not long, consider this. If you need something fancy, or want to sling your guitar low, or if you are a tall person, probably you want to skip this.
I'm 5ft 8" and I'm already using the longest setting with my acoustic that has a strap button on the heel of the neck as well as the end pin, and it's not like I'm trying to hold my guitar particularly low. If you are a tall person, or if you want to mimic Jimmy Page's posture or something, this is not for you.
Apart from that, I have to say that the cost performance of this thing is really impressive (it's more so if I believe the "made in Canada" sticker on it). Hard to beat it as far as leather straps go. At 2.5 inches wide, it's comfortable, one-ply leather is reasonably pliable yet seems to be thick enough, and the looks of it is not that bad either. Sure, there should be nicer/better product, but you cannot buy them for 12 bucks.
The only complaint I have is that a sticker that left some sticky residue was on the back side of the strap. Though it was not a big deal to remove the residue using rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease, it would have been nice if I was able to use it without any extra work without worrying about some gummy sticky thing rubbed on the guitar.

When I first purchased this strap I was disappointed. My acoustic guitar does not have a second strap button so I tried tying a string to the neck as someone suggested. The strap was too short to make this work so I ended up purchasing the planet waves quick release. Now it has the length I need and then some.

While not as soft and supple as suede straps, I am pretty sure this solid little strap will break in fairly well. The button holes were a little tight, but thats not a bad thing. It is definitely longer than a normal strap by a few inches and it smells nice to boot. It is fairly thin but that should help it break in quicker. All-in-all it's a good strap for the money, which wasn't much.

My criticisms:
1) I'm not tall and this strap is still too short even at its farthest position.
2) Not crazy about the plastic extender, but it works and I use it. The extender has an overlap beyond where it hooks to the strap button and I have this fear that that additional 1-2 inches of extending plastic could scrape the finish on the guitar. That said, the extender is necessary because, as noted above, the strap is too short.
3) The wide part of the strap doesn't rest on my shoulder exactly correctly. I end up with the majority of the wider portion of the strap across my back, not over my shoulder. Still I get a bit of the edge of the wider portion in the sweet spot. Flip it around, you say? Tried that. Now it's awkward and too thick across my chest and still doesn't straddle my shoulder.

The workmanship of the strap is great. The leather feels like decent stuff. It "looks" good. It's held up pretty well. No tearing at the connector holes and such. My criticism is more design than the quality of the product, and like I said, I use it. While I don't like the extender because it doesn't have a secure connection to the strap button (It hooks on to it, but you can lift it right out, occasionally, from playing vigorously), it does make getting the guitar off and on easy. This is a product that I wouldn't buy if I tried it out in person (versus online). Since I did buy it and since I like SOME things about it, it will serve for the time being.
