I bought this product a few weeks ago and I am very happy with it. I use it to bring a high degree of polishing to my handcrafted pens and pencils. They are awesome to wet sand acrylics, however, I find that when wet sanding wood, they tend to darken clear woods. I must admit that sometimes the result of the darkened wood looks a lot better than the original, so this is not really a complaint.
I bought 3 sets, and definitely will repeat this purchase.

I love these pads for sanding my polymer clay. They conform to the curves, etc. easily. I find that if you wet the clay and apply the pads instead of wetting the pad, the pads will last a long time. If they are soaked, the sanding surface will start coming loose as they are glued to the underlying foam underneath.When I am done with the pads, I give them a quick rinse with cold water and scrub them with a fingernail brush to remove residue.

These micromesh pads are perfect for my uses. They function very well at gently cleaning up vintage pens. They've been very useful at getting grime and dust off of celluloid and hard rubber, helping to remove light scratching, and returning a shine to pens. They also function very well at removing discoloration from fountain pen nibs. I've found them an incredibly useful tool that I reach for incredibly often.

They can be a bit difficult to clean, especially if you are using one of the pads to remove really heavy dirt from something, but so far light cleaning with water has helped to keep them useful.

Excellent product but be aware of the size. The Product Description states that these are 2" x 2" pads; but the Technical Details state "4.4 x 3.4 x 3.4 inches" (the packaging size?). For slightly more cost, it is better to buy the 3x4 pads [Micro-Mesh 3 x 4 Soft Touch Pads] or the sanding sheets [MICRO MESH SANDING SHEETS INTRODUCTORY WOOD KIT] or even the double set of 2x2 pads [Micro-Mesh 2" Assortment Pack - 18 Pieces]. Any of these would be a better value than this one: Micro-Mesh Pen Sanding Kit.

If used on the edge of my piece then the color of the pad would come off onto the edge which required a lot more sanding. Worked fairly well on a large flat surface. Probably would not invest in another set. NOT good for sanding while project is turning on the lathe. Friction melts the foam core.
