I bought 6 of these for a walk-a-thon my wife was putting on for my sons school. I'm writing this review (my first) because the other reviews helped me make my decision to buy this one. It could not have been more perfect! All 6 were running non-stop for 2 hours (minus the downtime to change paper and clean occasionally) and they all performed flawlessly! I didn't have to change any batteries in any of them during the two hours which surprised me because the kids were loading the paint on the paper pretty thick. After a while the paint pools in the bottom and after a quick wash and dry they were back in business. It comes with three little bottles of paint and some paper. Buy lots more paint!

Honestly the only negative thing I could say is that it takes an octagon shaped paper. I read in another post that it takes 5x7 cards and I tried that. It works as well, but you have to give it a slight turn in the holders to lock it in. Otherwise it comes loose and rubs against the sides and it stops. I had a local print shop cut me 500 for about $35 (including paper!) Well worth it since they would work perfectly when the event happened.

****HUGE TIP!!! **** If you are buying this to do in a school or event, buy a bunch of the cheapest paper plates you can find. When the kids are done, put their art on the paper plate and put another one over it creating a little dome! Then put a staple or tape on each side then write the name of the child on the top. It completely eliminates the problem of dealing with all the wet art and they can take it with them right away and not worry about making a mess! I can not tell you what we would have done if we didn't do this. We did hundreds and would have been overwhelmed on where to put them all to dry.

As a camp arts and crafts counselor, I used this machine for about 300 splatter paintings. It's still in excellent condition. Easy to clean and the results are great. Buy a quart each of red/blue/yellow tempera paints and plenty of blank 5x7 index cards, and this product will go a long way.

I try to limit children's gifts to items which do not require batteries, this takes 2 C cell batteries, but I made an exception. It would be much better if it came with an adapter to allow for more play time, but over all this is a great gift for a young budding artist.

You need to be able to buy refill paper as you go through the paper that comes with it fast. The kids love it and it is easy to use and clean. Just need refill paper to make it perfect.

I want to give this 5 stars. My son had a blast, the machine worked great, the pictures were cool. The problem I have with the Magic Spinning Art Machine is the paper required for it. It's octagon shaped! The set comes with 5 sheets of paper…and then what??? I mean Cra Z Art, at least sell me refill paper.

The paint is too thick so, among other problems this causes, my 6 y/o son has to squeeze the crap out of the paint containers to get anything to come out and it shoots out in huge globs, thus destroying the ability to to add subtle touches here and there.
