I had a gastric bypass 10 years ago, and the Dr. told me to drink a glass of the Carnation instant breakfast everyday for the vitamins and minerals. This works great both for the health and to control hunger, and the variety pack keeps me form getting tired of the same flavor all the time.

I am having gastric bypass, and Carnation instant breakfast, NAS was recommended. Good luck finding any flavor besides chocolate in the local grocery! Thanks amazon.com for coming to the rescue. The price for the quantity was equal to what it is in the store, and free shipping....AND IT WAS THE VARIETY PACK! SUPER EXCITING! I will admit i am a super picky person when it comes to taste, but seriously i can't tell a difference between NAS and regular carnation. Thanks Carnation for having the no added sugar, and a great flavor. i feel like a kid again when i drink it. i will defiantly be ordering more.

My 98-year-old mother isn't supposed to have much sugar but she needs to get a few extra nutritious calories and likes this. It costs more than the bulk drink mixes but she prefers the variety pack so she doesn't have to drink the same flavor every day and she prefers the packets because they are easy, convenient and she doesn't need to measure anything. I've pretty much tried them all and I like the flavors and mouth feel of Instant Breakfast better than the other drinks. The Instant Breakfast vanilla tastes more like vanilla to me than other brands.

add milk and/or ice cubes, fruit juice, coconut water, fruit, yogurt, egg...use your imagination. Lost 25lbs & am no longer anemic. Also great when you have no energy or inclination to eat anything. (It's like a smoothie, but if you were in hospital they'd use another product that costs more and tastes horrible).

I was a big fan of the chocolate malt flavor but that's harder to find, expensive and not sugar-free. I loved the chocolate malt with 100% whole milk but now I have to my calories so... I now use this with a tablespoon of Carnation sugar free malt powder, 30 calorie and found on amazon, and about about 12oz. Skim milk. Yummy!

I had not tried this product for many years--in the old days it was called "Instant Breakfast" and I remember using it as a quick meal "back in the day."

I found I was skipping breakfast in my hurry to get out the door some mornings, which caused me to sink by noon. A friend mentioned these and said they were pretty good. I checked my local grocery store, and they only had a couple of flavors, none that appealed to me, so I ordered the milk chocolate (my old favorite) from amazon. I decided to try the sugar-free version with the thought to "doctor it up" if it was yucky. In fact, when I got my order, for the first one I put the mix in the blender with milk and ice cubes to make it tasty.

Well, it WAS tasty made as a "milk shake" but that also takes an extra minute or two, plus washing the blender. So the next time, I just mixed it with milk in a glass, stirring with a spoon. First, it blends very easily with milk, making a nice creamy drink in seconds. More important, it tastes GOOD. Not "OK" but actually good! Hard to believe it has no sugar.

I usually drink non-fat milk, but I mix these with whole milk. I find that, aside from making the drink creamier, the fat in the milk gives the drink more staying power. Since the mix itself is non-fat, the 8 grams in the milk is not excessive for a meal replacement drink.
