For Panasonic Zs7, HDMI mini cable is a must as it makes easier to display pics from camera directly to TV with sound. I am refering to the pictures with sound, a feature I only know in this very model up to now. If you have a SD slot on your TV, sound recorded within the pics will not play. Sounds recorded within pics will play either with mini HDMI cable or from PC to TV after installing Panasonic software.

Cable's plugs are gold plated (thin layer, it's true) and helps delivering excellent speed and sound.

Didn't work. I would return it, but it would cost me more in time and gas money than the $3.23 I paid for it. Bought this to work with Panasonic TM 700 video camera, hooked it up to my Panasonic TV, and Viera Link wouldn't work at all. (Viera Link allows me to use the TV remote to control the camera, or any other Panasonic product.) At first it would display video, but no audio. I played back a couple of video clips, then the screen went all test pattern on me I had to unplug and replug. A couple of times that didn't even work. I tried turning things off and on again, tried unplug and replug, and it was always sketchy. I was worried it was the brand new camera, so I bought a $25 Panasonic cable from B&H Photography and it works wonderfully, so now I know it wasn't the camera and can leave this warning to others.

What some people won't tell you about HDMI cables is that low cost cables usually work as well as big dollar ones. The cable carries a digital signal. Ones and Zeroes. Those 1s and 0s either get there, or they do not. There is no in between with digital. Why spend $30 from Panasonic when this cable works great for under $2. I am winning!
