Missing Fitting + Slow Customer Service = Useless Product

I ordered this to go with my Paha Que shower. Nearly a year after the first reviews complaining of missing fittings, they are still sending out units with missing drain fittings.

Calls to the company repeatedly went to voice mail. When I finally got a real person, I was told that the (only?) customer support person was out "product testing."

The next week, while I was away on my trip (without my useless drain floor), I received an email from the company. They don't even have any of the missing part in stock anymore. (Despite calming only a few units went out without them.) They can send me one when they get more. No time frame was given.

My 30-day return window is coming to an end soon, and in reality it looks like this useless product will be going back to Amazon.

Not really needed.

First mine was missing the part to attach to a hose. It only had a hole. I did return mine because of the missing hose attachment. This will not drain completely unless you are on a slopping ground and have the drain on the bottom of the slope. Or hook up a pump system to help drain into a bucket. You will stand in water which makes it hard to dress. Adding a wooden floor to the bottom will help you not stand in water to dry off and dress. We ended up just using a large tarp under our shower tent with a wooden mat floor.

Received way ahead of time.

Unexpected benefit - looks like this can be used as a shallow basin (also stated in directions). I am kind of a clean freak and bath person. So anticipate that I can rinse off outside with a cold hanging shower, step in, disrobe and use warm water from my heater to fill this up to take sort of a sitz bath. Can then sit and scrub up in the warmer water. Finally stand to rinse off. Have to make a short hose to attach to the drain. Can cut off a section from my old garden hose. Will buy parts for this at the hardware store when I go to buy a hose screw on stopper. Be careful when attaching the screw in drain conduit as there is a gasket that is easy to lose.

Will update if this is anything adverse after actual use.

Spoke with PahaQue about the missing part issue

I also purchased this item and found the hose connector was missing. I called the company, and they were very honest about some of these items getting out without the part installed. They have the parts on hand, and sent me one which I got in two days. I felt they were very responsive and honest, and I appreciated that they made it right without question. I have since used the drain floor on two occasions and it works perfectly, good product. I have a friend who owns one of the PahaQue Tepee's and uses it with his Drain Floor and it fits perfectly. They use it a lot for camping. Anyway I was pleased with their customer service and the product.

missing parts

*Upgrading this to five stars, In a surprising twist, I received my missing part in the mail a few days ago, Took quite a while but They did send it. I also realize that all this time, I was setting up the floor incorrectly! The floor is suppose to be fitted with the tent inside it. I was placing it the other way around, I was putting the floor inside tent which made the floor unstable and floppy. I'm finally looking forward to using it this summer.

Did not like this product sides were too unstable, also drain part missing.

Aus Drain Capture Floor Review

I like the concept of the drain floor.
I think the quality of the products is good.
The issues is about how the product fits the Teepee.

I have made a similar product for my previous shower tent.
The edges have small fiberglass stiffening poles which slide in a pocket.
This keeps the top edges fitting the tent so less water escapes.
Velcro in the corners which is easy to fit and remove and keeps the floor upright.
The concept of the product is great just needs some more refining.

The product works and does achieve the design principles.
If your looking for a drain floor than this product works.
I know the product could be improved.

I would not buy this product again.
I would prefer a custom version based on the principles noted.

Quality Control Needs Improvement

As with the Paha Que Shower/Outhouse Tent that arrived at the same time, the Drain Capture Floor looks great, but it too was unusable when delivered because there was just a blank hole in the side - no fitting with cap. By the time the fitting arrived (still without a cap - I give up), I had gone on my camping trip and returned. As with the Tent, the quality may be fine, but the quality control was poor and in this case, the subsequent followup did not fully address the problem. Guess I'll take the fitting I finally got and try to find a cap that will work; not a big deal, but completely unnecessary.

Sides are too flexible.

Sides are too flexible. If drain clogs, capture floor fills, sides bow out and water spills. Not good if you can't be spilling gray water.
